The Death to Spies Enhancement Addon is an hybrid of unoffical patch and improvement mod. Target of this addon is to improve gameplay,ambience and athmosphere. Hopefully this is seen and helps someone. I had the same problem as Marrik, albeit with a gold edition copy, and this is what I did:
I installed the game (no need to patch to 1.1 for a non-Russian game as they are prepatched reportedly), ran the vfsTool and unpacked all the .vfs files in my game directory following this method I saw on the internet (if you don't do this I was told files don't unpack/get corrupted):
>select "Open" and choose a .vfs file
> click "save all" and choose your game folder as the save location
> wait until everything is extracted
> hit "Close"
> then select "Open" and choose the next .vfs file
Then I extracted both the main addon + the English pack to my game directory (overwriting everything).
After that, I tried to run the "BACKUP.BAT" file normally and as admin., but it didn't seem to work regardless. This doesn't matter though: as all this file does is it backs up your files.
The only thing other thing I had to do to make my game not vanilla (i.e. intro videos actually appearing prior to the game's main menu screen, no blood, no mission names on loading screens, etc.) after this was to simply delete the original .vfs files in my Death to Spies folder. After that: the mod worked. Nowhere is this last instruction specified but you have to do this to get the mod to work -- at least for me.

Thanks that worked.
I have the cog version of death to spies and tries installing the mod. I get the splash screen and then the intro plays, but after that there is only a black screen with my health bar and the aiming circle. No matter what I press I cant get to the title.
Any solutions?
