Dead Air is a total conversion for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series based on Call of Chernobyl, encompassing all aspects of the game from graphics, audio, and special effects to various gameplay and AI features. The mod evolves from the ideas started in Call of Misery, a previous project of the mod author. Major inspirations for Dead Air include projects such as NLC, MISERY, Autumn Aurora, and OGSE. Dead Air prioritises the development of the game engine’s potential, complexity of gameplay, and attention to detail, along with addressing both the quality and quantity of all content.

Not my cup of tea, actually, I'm liking the feature, I've even set ambushes with it.

But thanks anyway, I know many guys in here will love this.

You can actually watch Stalkers go for your stash? I assumed random items would just magically disappear over time or something.

You can witness them stealing stuff a few seconds after putting them in stashes: Moddb.com

Yes, if you don't want them to rob your stash, just be a little creative, put it on a place they can't reach or something like that, it has worked for me, and I'm liking more than the usual blue metallic chest in Sid's place or Rostok bar.

It's more immersive having to mind where you place your stuff as a stash or a quick loot dump before an assault to have more stamina.

It makes sense to hide things higher up away from stalkers. But the amount of players who report getting their stuff stolen despite hiding them on top of roofs and upper floors (where the AI can't even go), that just feels cheap. Fortunately for you, you haven't experienced it yet.

I just dropped a Dutyer who had just ransacked a whole rucksack full of stuff, and promptly had to quit the game because I wasn't ready to fight one of the Zone's better-armed factions, so this mod is definitely required for me.

I like the stealing feature myself, except its kinda bugged right now. I put my stash on a three story building that requires significant parkour to reach. Was looted by a guy stationed at the other side of the map...

I thought the stealing feature was cool too, until I keep hearing of stalkers losing their stashes on top of buildings

I also thought this could be a nice feature, but it leaves so many problems... I can´t even stash my stuff on an unreachable place, it doesn´t matter, they will get there (magically) and to get my things back, i have to kill the NPC, so everybody near from the NPC faction shot me.
I guess is just this feature that doesn´t completly fit the gameplay. otherwise, this the stalker overhoul most stable, optimized, graphically beatifull and "mechanic wise" (not sure about this word, not my native languaje) from my own experience (Lost Alpha; CoC; CoM; Misery; Yoctosfera; Last Day)
Tnx for this addon. And for the comunity for been there.

It would be better if you could rent a safe box that nobody could steal. But yeah, cool feature in theory, not very fun for gameplay

I use the stash in Sidorovich's bunker and it works. But I did quest with destroying military's loudspeakers and army captured the Rookie Village. I've killed them, but they capture this viallage every time. I could sneak to the bunker, but after exploration of North of Zone, the Ecologists
came there and they stay next to bunker. I killed two, ran into the bunker and the Army and Ecologists attacked me in the bunker and I'm afraid someone will steal my stash.

AI usually doesn't go into Sid's Bunker unless something leads them there (an enemy, mutant, etc). I'd say your stash is probably safe.

HOPING I wouldn't need this mod so I set a stash on the 2nd floor of a house in Rook Village and the game teleported it directly to the first floor but in the same place, w/e its still pretty well hidden.. Wrong.
Left the village and watched a stalker start running back to the village from outside and 2 houses over thru the fence, yeah he went straight to my 1st floor stash.

Imagine getting your stuff stolen from you, and then EVERYONE gets mad for you shooting the thief...

Okay, they even take stashes you get as rewards. I got a stash in the same area for giving a Dutyer a gun and as soon as I turn around I saw a stalker running for the gate! He was running to the stash I got.
Thats ******** it's like he overheard the guy tell me where the stash is! lmao

I'm a massive thief in these role play games but these guys in this mod make me look like a chump lol

Thanks, stash placement was buggy for me so I couldn't put my stashes where some sticky fingered creep wouldn't be able to reach them. (ie, on top of buildings, they just glitched and appeared on the floor wherever I placed them)

Yes, if you could only have one addon, this would be it. The stash system is totally broken. I swear the makers must have tested the stash at Sidor's location only and said "welp, seems to work fine" and finalized it.

Not entirely sure if this cause of the addon, but I've had to no luck finding toolkits needed for mechanics. Before I'd find some in unlooted stashes (without "better loot" enabled) and also stalkers holding onto one, even Wolf when I began a fresh game had expert toolkit on him.

Far as I know Basic tools can be found in the wood and cardboard boxes you can smash open but I don't know about the advanced and expert.

The looting system is very broken. The NPCs steal even the hiding places that they give you after doing the works. Thanks to this, I still can not find the expert tools, because surely some NPC stole it.

I'm going to try this addon. Thank you.
