Dunedain Counter-Invasions: Tôl Acharn


Hello friends! Longed to counter Invasions, or get countered?
Unleash the mighty Tôl Acharn oath [the Jihad from M2:TW] as either Gondor or Arnor upon the enemies of the Dúnedain.
Use diplomacy to allow the Northmen factions to also participate in them when the tide is turning and, by time, be able to call them as Northmen yourself.

This Third Age: Total War v3.2 submod add a Loremaster to Gondor and Arnor, that can invoke the counter-invasion called Tôl Acharn upon a settlement held by the Followers of Morgoth, in Sauron's service.

Gondor aquire this Loremaster through a quest, Eriador by reforming into Arnor.
After the first Invasion by Sauron has been issued the Loremaster may soon call their own counter-invasions.
Armies that participate get free upkeep and doubled movment capacity, but suffer desertion it they do not move towards the designated target soon enough. They may recruit volunteer units uniqe to Tôl Acharn endevours, and generals who participate in a successful counter-invasion gain traits of recognition.

Northmen factions allied to the calling Dúnedain faction may join the counter-invasion on equal terms.
For the period of participation the faction change to Dúnedain culture, but religious unrest is balanced by a Law bonus, culture buildings still produce Northmen culture and unit recruitment proceeds as usual.

Hi, sorry for late reply: this do not work with DaC, only with vanilla TATW. The DaC team are free to implement it whenever (their our mates) but they have not yet AFAIK.

Hello! No, it's not compatible, but perhaps some day DaC will contain the Tôl Acharn - they already have our permission and Arachir Galu' still said he wanted it implemented, not that long ago ;)

ive tried many times and i did exactly what u told me, but the only message that comes up while i play as Eriador is "welcome to middle earth."

You accepted to overwrite files when you extracted the .rar into the Third_Age_3-folder?
You deleted map.rwm?

If you have Windows 7 or later, check if there's a Third_Age_3-folder/installation in the VirtualStore; if theer is one, delete it, then remove the map.rwm again and start the game.
You can google to find how to find the VirtualStore.

There was no overwrite files in it,when it got downloaded, it was a notepad document.

What, haha? No, no, the submod is a .rar.-file on 180MB, not a notepad-document. Moddb.com
Just downloaded it myself to see there's nothing wrong, and worked like a charm for me.

Either you downloaded something completly different, or your computer do not know what a rar-file is.
You have a program to unpack rar-files, like WinRAR or 7ZIP? (They're freeware)

Did you manage to open the file with WinRAR instead, to unpack it?
May require you change the properties of the file, if the computer thinks it's supposed to be opened by Notepad by default.
If W10 add some further trix to make it work I do not know, sticking to W7 still, hehe

Glad to hear.
The colour change is another submod, named "Full Arnorian Reemergance": Twcenter.net!
However that mod is not avilable any longer, and would not work with TATW 3.2, or any mods to 3.2, anyhow.

If you desire it you can still get i through MOS.

MOS contain >loads< of submods and content; I just warn it may be very slow on some computers (especially as the M2-engine do not utilize multiple cores).
DCI: Tôl Acharn is also in MOS (was supervisor of MOS a couple of years ago), perhaps slightly less polished than this version but still hehe.
