After a long break due to a breakdown of the original team, we are merging the Purgation of Kaurava and Firestorm over Kaurava modifications. This modification is the result of that merge and will STILL be Firestorm over Kaurava.
Melooo/yooo has been very generous in allowing the two modifications to merge and baz4431 has been heading the recent team reorganisation!
Expect more news as we progress; a Soulstorm version of the modification isn't that long away!
Most of the team has been busy with real life matters for the previous months, but we finally managed to put together a new release. There's still polishing work to do, but tyranids are fully playable and we know you want to try them out.
Due to technical problems, we cannot upload the new version to moddb right now, so here's a mediafire link:
HOW TO INSTAL:
1-Delete any old DoW40K_SS folder you had in your Dawn of War Soulstorm directory.
2-Extract this package in your Dawn of War Soulstorm directory.
3-Start up the game and select Firestorm over Kronus from the mod list!
TO PLAY FOK WITH TYRANIDS:
-Instead of Firestorm over Kronus, load up Anphelion Project.
And no, there's no need for extra downloads or other mods.

I'm a bit confused, is 'Firestorm over Kronus' a mod for Dark Crusade or for Soulstorm? Nothing in the summary or description clearly says what this mod is for or what it's supposed to do... What's the difference between FoKronus and FoKaurava, are they both for Soulstorm or is there a version for Dark Crusade? I know this mod is discontinued but it clearly lacks the basic info you need before downloading it...
Kronus is the DC version, Kaurava is for SS. Haven't played these mods in years but the original intent was to make the game play in a way more accurate to the lore along with all the units Relic had never included.

I've been toying with it on and off for several years now. In theory you can but expect some CTD and errors.
I would love to this to be implemented for the campaign and in fact implemented for DoW basegame and Winter Assault too but sadly that it's far beyond my grasp.
Sad, the greatest thing about this mod was that everything looked like it belong together, Ultimate apocalypse looks like a mish mash of stuff.
this mod was the best because it was more "tactical". i especially like that squads are not able to reinforce/upgrade unless they're near listening posts or transports. i also liked how low tech units stay relevant throughout the game and how not all squad types can capture points.
on the other hand, ua is a bit overrated. it's a spamfest/techfest. tech units just utterly stomp low tech units. stupidly op commanders and relic units. stupidly op long range spam (even worse is that some aircraft and turrets have really long range). only thing really good about ua mod is the faction and unit variety and of course the fact that it's actually still being developed while most other mods already died a while ago.
