Hey guys, it is awesome to see people making mods for fantastic Red Orchestra, which is imo the only mod in the last few years that isn't at least 96% copy of CS.... Great, good luck
I don't like the black bag he bears but the rest is good.
the black bag is a floater...they did use them for the D-day landings, don't worry the GI will only use the black floater on the dday landing maps.
Looking pretty good. I like how it's a simple mesh but the textures bring out some details to finish it off.
What's up with his face?
the face is a blank canvas at the moment, we're planning to add in detailed photo faces of team members, testers and whoever else thinks they fit the bill...the Gi texture was done by myself (minus the face), theres even more detail on it than the renders bring out but thx for the comments :D
Nice job guys!
good to see an American mod for RO. If I was the RO dev team what I would do created an American booster pack. I enjoy the Russians so much. In fact it was the reason I bought UT2004, and DL the mod a few years back. I just think that they should do that. I think everyone who owns RO would buy an American booster pack. Just keep it simple...just the same realism, but with American skins, and a couple of maps. Doing so would just give the dev team more money to do as they wish. Hopefully it'll help with the development of the UE 3.0 game...I would do the same for the UE 3 game, just start with the classic Russian campaign then add an American, and because of the 3.0 engines age I would expand to the Brits or a lesser known army.
A problem and a benefit is that the Germans could stay the same. You can't even really give them any more weapons...just minor weapons that were scarcely used during the war. I guess give them more models and skins. Maybe another axis power. It's more work, but Italy would be insane...anyway even more maps. UE 2.5 isn't THAT old yet...you could put out a $10 booster pack over steam no problem...steam is pretty cheap so it would be worth every penny. I know the price tag will get some people going, about how this was a mod, and it should be free, and blah blah blah...I'm willing to pay for something these people create. I know other people may not feel the same, but I can have a good feeling seeing that people bought RO in the first place. Give a free weekend again boasting the American's addition. People will buy it just because its the yanks, and they will get hooked.
Anywho I doubt anyone will read this, im high as hell. These ideas are just ideas that everyone has...just wish that the Tripwire staff would do this. They have a very good connection with the fan base, and I'm sure that they will listen to the community when making its next decisions. Man...this mod looks good anyway...just know that ill be playing this mod when it gets out. Don't fade away, stick together whoever is on your team. I wish I knew anything about modding or I would be making a mod myself...
if you are looking for mods that add italy and other powers most of the DH staff also work over at Mare Nostrum another mod for RO, as for selling our game of course that would be a dream come true, however we would need an agreement with tripwire, an engine license etc, however we will get this finished and to you for free and it should be hosted on steam for all you guys to download. While these mods will undoubtly go on to spur us onto careers in gaming some of us may form together and create our own companies, i guess the best thing to say is watch this space. Also even if you don't think you have any modding skills pop over to the DH or MN forums and sign up you can always give us pointers or we may even be able to train you up to do something.
Merry Xmas All
