Dark Interval is a restoration/revision mod that lets you play Half-Life 2 as it could have been. Using Valve's early concepts, we're creating new maps, models, textures, and custom dialogue. The mod is released in episodes, the most recent being Dark Interval: Part I - an intro chapter to the bigger story.
Is all of this Xen fauna custom? It's looking really nice.
I retextured some of useless Episode 2 props from scratch.
Colossal work. Thank you very much, for your, good work ! :-)
White houndeyes? :U
Yep, and don't forget the red one with blue stripes there.
Ow damn, you are right! I really start to love how the wastelands seem to be both bleak, dark but colorful in their own way at the same time :O
Depressing but also exciting at the same time.
...Even a flock of boids in the distance. Really loving how much this world feels like it's melded with xen!
Amazing, the level of detail in the first part was amazing and it looks like it's the same for the rest of it. I'm looking forward to playing this!

Simply amazing.
Great to know Dark Interval is still being worked on!
******* amazing! I crave for more content for this mod!
I'm loving all of this invasive alien life.
I don't know what you did but you made all the screenshots look great.
Yay, Xen Trees and Houndeyes! Beautiful work guys!
Now... I am collecting the pieces of mine jaw from the floor...
I wish Half Life 2 and its episodes had some wastelands like this in them, it's pretty cool.
God above, I really don't think I've taken a chance yet to praise the work you all have been churning out like fine cream! You've surpassed my expectations for the wastelands, instead of a rather tasteless dustbowl littered with wreckage, now infested with weeds, flora and fauna of worlds old and new, on top of the familiar setpieces of the old HL2 story (submarine, outer constructions of Combine facilities [antlion caves?]). I commend you all for your creative endeavors of combining familiar with fresh looks.
My sole concern, however, lies in how Part 2 will play. While I can give all the praise I can offer for the looks and atmosphere, it ultimately comes down to whether or not the wasteland is a walking simulator or a walking shooting gallery. I'm no expert on game design myself, and I'm optimistic you all know what you're doing, but be wary of only focusing on looks. I'm very much looking forward to what you all have to offer!
Next update will elaborate on that, actually. Not gonna lie, wasteland maps are a challenge to work with, and end result may not be to everyone's liking, but I think gameplay is coming together.
