IMO the red needs to be toned down, it doesn't match the skybox and it doesn't look like fall. Let the yellows and oranges and browns do their thing too, don't smother them in oversaturated red.

I don't know what you see in my post that suggests I am upset.
The colours are really good, but my only problem is that HL2:EP2 didn't had any autumn scenes. Or will it be a dream sequence? Or a suprise? :)

What's wrong with a mod adding a autumn sequence? They can set the mod wherever they like.

So if he choose to make the mod play by these rules, then he can't change the seasons. Simple logic really.
