Gameplay plan so far; Each Great Battle in the books will be waves of stacks, some of which will have awesome generals (Glaurung, Gothmog, Balrogs, Sauron, Battle Trolls maybe, etc.) but most will be crappy Orcs and such that are easy enough to mop up if there are still enough ally factions around to help out. Helping allies survive these waves, and surviving yourself, as best as possible and rebuilding inbetween these waves to survive the next will be a major point in gameplay in Beleriand, or obviously allying with Morgoth. In the expanded map/restricted map campaigns running away and hiding in Middle-Earth may be wiser unless you ally with Morgoth. The Host of Feanor is always at war with Morgoth and whomever owns a Silmaril (one will be floating around after Beren dies). I will need gameplay testers soon so I am posting here.
Should update/fix all UI files from vanilla TATW and this mod. Saved game compatible. Works for First/Third/Fourth Age.
Works for First/Third/Fourth Age. Extract to desktop and overwrite your data folder (inside you mod folder) with the provided data folder.
If you don't have problem with your UI you do not need to download this. Only UI files (images) are included.
what do you mean by problems with UI? Missing UI or wrong UI?
Some have reported their UI gets messed up and causes a crash after 20+ turns of playing. This release should fix that, if you don't experience it you don't need this release.
Still have the same problem after installing this fix.
The directory is packed incorrectly. It puts a bunch of folders directly in data, but really they should be in data/ui. If you install it the default way, you won't get prompted to overwrite anything, because it's in the wrong place.
Instead, go inside the data directory in the UI Fix zip, and select all the files and folders (folders: custom_portraits, eastern_european...etc, plus the one file battle.sd ) and go copy/paste them into data/ui in your mod directory. Then it will prompt you to overwrite. If it does that, then you know you've applied it in the right place.
Great to see you're still working on this fun mod! :)
I have always taken long breaks, nothing new:P. I will at least get bugs fixed and the balance up to par before I stop (if I ever do), I am making this for me to play after all so I don't want to encounter this undesirable stuff.
will you return to making the mod
