Daggerhell is a Doom 1-2 mod, heavily inspired by Devil Daggers game mechanics and feeling.
Daggerguy was very happy fighting skulls and bizarre lovecraftnian weirdos in a dark and sisyphean world, but somehow when he fell out of the platform he landed in a different reality, he fell right in the middle of a hell invasion, just before Doomguy.
Bored, with nothing to do, Daggerguy decided that he would kill everything in his way, til he reaches the exit out of this fucking colorful place.
- Enemies drop health bonuses (works the same as gems), and have a chance of dropping armor and bigger health packs.
- Damage has been slightly modified.
- Small enemies health raised.
- Cyberdemon and Spider Mastermind health raised.
- Higher speed and jump height.
- Health is a lot more limited for the player. Keep moving or die.
- Enemies glow when hit.
- Projectiles animation improved
- Spectres are more visible, just a little more translucent than pinkies.
- Decorate code cleaned and categorized.
- Deleted unused resources, now the file is half the original size.

This is a lot of fun, but I think it would great if you could make a version of the main mod that is compatible with Heretic/Hexen too. Thematically it would fit with both really well.
Don`t worry! The original idea was that, my first idea of this mod was to make it mainly for Heretic, aesthetically fits in every way possible.
There were two reasons I did it first for Doom:
1) Two years passed since the last time i modded Doom, I needed a little "practice".
2) Doom has a LOT more map packs and slaughtermaps to test and feel the gameplay.
I´ll make a couple more updates tweaking some numbers to enhance gameplay. Then, I`ll translate all to Heretic.
Hexen maybe in the future, it´s not as action oriented as the other two, so a lot more work needs to be done to adapt it.
Wouldn't it be possible to recreate the original arena map of dagger hell?
Not necessarily with the enemies but with the wave based mechanics?
I really enjoy the concept.. The sprites, animations, effects... Not so much.. I'd rather rip the animations from devil daggers itself than the's sprites..
I´d love to see it! I prefer the "8 bit" art style. Otherwise it would feel out of context.
