You wake up in a forest without knowing why. You are injured and it's cold outside so you decide to go into a mansion nearby. You recognize the house for some reason but you can't tell if it's from a dream or memories.

It was pretty good, liked the atmosphere, but what I hate was darkness almost always, really few places was bright ones.

Positives:

- Story understable
- Scares
- No sound monsters
- Couple nice puzzles

Negatives:

- Lack of original puzzles
- Nothing amazed mapping just average
- Repetitive and sometimes pretty boring

Overall it's simple, average custom story.

While it's not exactly something that blows someone's mind, it has everything a mod should have - puzzles, scares, great monster encounters and some story. It's just sometimes a bit basic and the lack of oil makes it confusing at times but I enjoyed it.

Not really good. The level designs are plain. Also, removing music for the monster was a mistake!

Not the great custom story at all. Removing music for monster is not a great idea and it makes this cs less scary and calming. Also, every maps are quite dark and confusing to explore. Monster AI is not great sometimes like some of them cannot destroy the door, especially on the cellar.

Pretty good custom story, could've used navmesh so the monsters could've been a bit more challenging, but other than that it was pretty good, could've been a bit longer, but the fact that there's multiple endings is pretty sweet, good story.

Finished this mod for the second time, and the total time it took from me was around 50-60 minutes due to being stuck at one part.

Positives:
-Scary
-Level design, while nothing special was good and well made throughout the whole mod
-Extended variety of different puzzles to solve, they were a bit too easy though
-Multiple endings

Negatives:
-The excavation site was lacking
-Way too many monster encounters
-Nitpicky and minor, but quite a few typos were seen

Cursed souls offers a solid, creepy atmosphere throughout the whole custom story. It was a lot better than I remembered from my first plyathrough!

Storyline:

While it may seem cliché with it's "wake up, don't know why" we have to take the release year into consideration. Something like this would be cliche in 2018, but in 2013, it wasn't as overused as it's nowadays. The storyline, in general, was enjoyable, simple and interesting. It didn't offer any fantastic plots or uniqueness, but I personally enjoyed it. Adding multiple endings increases the score aswell. I'll give storyline a solid 8/10

Level design was all-around good. I didn't find a single texture glitch anywhere. Constructing was overall great and the mansion was well made, along with great cellar area. The excavation site was a little undetailed unfortunately, but it's not a big thing.

Detailing was great! The "small but compact" library area was excellent, I loved the simplicity and design of it. Overall, the detailing was on point throughout the mod, excluding the last map.

Lightning was.. well. What to say xD It was dark everywhere, literally everywhere with few exceptations. Considering that it was supposed to be dark anyways, I won't calculate the score from lightning.

Constructing and detailing get yet another solid 8

Scare factor was very good. The silent monsters dramatically added pressure for exploring, since you never heard when a creature spawned somewhere- being totally aware of your surroundings and exploring the dark mansion with very limited oil was pressuring, creepy and scary- at first.

Exploring the mansion after first quest got me a bit annoyed however. There was monster somewhere all the time- making it not scary at all, since the threat was always there. This lead to me facing three grunts after picking up the artifact from the library section.
Same can be said about the cellar by some aspect, but there the monsters were a little bit more limited. After getting up the stairs from the flooded part, a grunt walked down the stairs at the same time ^^. That was.. pretty monsterious (xD) situation as I just barely avoided death from Kaernk. The few jumpscares also faced were all well made.

Excluding the million grunts, scare factor was generally great and atmosphere made it better. I'm thinking of 7, but I decide to give 8, again

Music/Sounds/Atmosphere was on point. Music was heard all around the place, creating a great atmosphere throughout the whole custom story. Overall, there is nothing wrong with M/S/A. Nothing special though ^^ I decide to give 9

Last thing to go through is the puzzles. I'm glad that there were as big majority of puzzles as there were, but overall, they were all really easy- for me atleast. There really isn't much to write about them anyways, so puzzles will get 7

Overall, Cursed Souls in a greatly made, good all-around custom story. It offered its scary moments, got me creeped multiple times. I can recommend this mod for, actually everyone since this is a compact package of every basic thing a good mod needs. But I can recommend it for those who like to get scared.

Score: 8 - Great!

This was a very good custom story, primarily because of the lack of spawn sound and "hunt" music when the monsters were around. It made the mansion level so much more unnerving because I was literally NEVER certain whether there was or wasn't a monster around unless he was close. In fact, I actually ran right into the back of one that had been so far out of sight and hearing range for so long that I thought for sure he was gone... but he wasn't! And the mannequin-turning-into-skeleton jumpscare got me so badly my heart genuinely hurt for about five minutes afterward, and I nearly had to take a break to calm down again.
My only complaint was the bad grammar, but that's a problem in so many custom stories I've gotten used to it, and considering how great the story was otherwise, I really don't have the heart to take any points off for that. The story was a bit hard to follow but good overall, and I liked the multiple endings.
Overall a great custom story and I would highly recommend playing it.

Very nice custom story!

Positives:
-Mapping was great
-Very scary. I quit few times, because I was too scared to play it. Silent monsters surely scared me a lot

Negatives:
-Puzzles were way too easy (for me, at least)
-Writing / grammar and word spelling wasn't the best at some points (that isn't such a big deal, however)
-Story was a little complicated. I never got a grip on it

Mansion area was one of the scariest Amnesia areas I've been in. I quit various times, due for being way too scared
Cellar part wasn't as scary as mansion part, but it still gave me the creeps from its atmosphere.
No clue what to write anymore! This CS deserves strong 8.

Need more scares :D

Great Custom Story!

Positives:

-Story was great 8/10
-Scares (especially one in the cellar... damn i got scared) 9/10
-ending choices (best is the "greedy" in my opinion... i was like "wth?" the others were not that great
-Silent grunt... that really was a good idea! it made the mod lot more scarier
-a few great puzzels

Negatives:

-Mapping wasn't that great 5/10
-Monster spawns (almost every time you pick up an item monster spawns)
-Some puzzles weren't that great, the four buttons for example

Great Custom story when it comes to scares, atomsphere, story, and not knowing are you safe or are you screwed.

9/10 definitely

Keep Up The Good Work!
