"Cthulhu 2: The Yellow Sign" is a HL2 mod and the sequel to the HL1 mod "Cthulhu". It is inspired by the works of HP Lovecraft and Robert W Chambers.
Cthulhu 2 will contain the following features:
- Sanity system with multiple insanity effects
- Objectives system
- Readable objects
- Interactive conversations
- Usable combination mechanisms
- New weapons
- New monsters
Cthulhu 2 will contain 11 chapters and will be released in 2 parts; chapters 1-5 and chapters 6-11.
We have re-used some NPC models from Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines just to get a lot of variety in NPCs.

First off, many thanks for all the comments encouraging us in the development of this mod. It really does help to keep us motivated.
Secondly, my apologies for being so quiet for so long.
Back in January, real life got in the way of the mod. I was given a massive project at work with a tight deadline and the other main developer was starting up his own business. That, combined with a bunch of people who offered to contribute but then failed to deliver anything, resulted in us deciding to take a 6 month sabbatical from the mod (Jan-Jul 2012).
As a result, we have returned to it with new enthusiasm and inspiration. The primary mapping for chapters 1-5 is complete and now we are entering the polishing and fine-tuning stage. Playtesting will follow and then a release.
Due to a number of people offering voice actoring not delivering, I have decided to use my own (frankly terrible) voice acting in a number of places, which can be replaced later in a patch.
We are planning to post some new images in the coming days, so keep watching.

I really hope this does come out one day, despite it's flaws I really enjoyed the first Cthulhu, I wouldn't say it's one of my top 10 HL1 mods but it's definitely one of my favorites (if that makes sense) since I'm a big fan of H.P. Lovecraft.
Would be nice to see finished but from the few emails I had with Phil G the developer, it's unlikely. Life took priority, rightfully so.
Real life got in the way eh?

I've been holding out for this mod for the longest time, as will be obvious to anyone who does a quick browse through the comments.
But I think it's time to perhaps accept it's not going to get released. Shame too, from what I've heard it was just on the cusp of completion... but has been for years now.
