So this is the newest version of Crusader mod, with tons of improovements. See info and istall-guide below...
The newest version of the mod, lots of bug correction, new parties, new names for lords and NPCs, new army composition (less archers). Some of the heroes are ABLE TO DIE in combat. You can't know if you pick up a lucky bastard, who always make it through to live, while others don't. (and these heroes cost equal as the "immortal" ones, you may pick up an unlucky fellow for 10000, or a non-killable for 100...) If you have luck, your mortal hero can live endless day, if you don't have, he may fell in battle the very next day after recruitment. But that's how life was like in those days. The mercenaries are tuned up as well, now you can recruit elite heavy muslim warriors. The knights and the European infantrymen has been re-balanced as well, and the muslim armies have less useless militia, and much more skilled desert warriors, low in armor, and more medium infantry. Byzance is low in numbers, but the Latin Empire (=Byzatium) fields much better armoured and trained units, including western knights.
Installation:

2, Unzip file
3, Grab the CRUSADER folder and put it into the Modules folder (it's inside the game folder)
so..../Mount and Blade Warband/Modules/"put the mod here"
4, Launch game, select mod, and give good reviews :)
Looks good. I'll post this in my forum. Cheers :)
Great, thanks :)
So, does this have Diplo & Freelancer?
diplomacy only
Heh te aztán nem vagy rest!Grat szép munka mint mindíg :) !
köszi. pedig vizsgaidőszak van :'D :(
"three faiths crash for these lands: the Christian, the Muslim and the Ortodox"
It's seems as if the author either doesn't differentiate between the terms "Christian" and "Catholic" or doesn't consider Orthodoxy as a Christian denomination. :)
That matter aside, what Warband version is this mod compatible with?
Fixed it, I was just miswrite it, that's all. Catholic is a word hard to remmeber :D for me at least; Christian always come up instead of that...
Ironclad avatar got me. haha
Cheers ;)
Hey, What's up with Folowers? About a half of them became just like ordinary troops, you can't even give them armor and weapons anymore. When you try, it's deleting half of your own inventory. I liked having 60 folowers before so much, but now half of them are broken! WHY?
They are the "unlucky" ones who can die (you should read the description)... I always imagined NPCs as the extreme fighters and friends of the player... well, sometimes even the best friends and best warriors can die in combat... I think that's the aftereffect of Game of Thrones :D
In the next version (if I don't forget) I will include an optional file, which make them all "immortal".
Aaahhhh Dammit! Why oh why you didn't include it in this version? Oh well... I ubderstand your opinion, but that's actually make them kind of... useless... rather then messing with a charachter that has an entire party slot for himself and doesn't has THAT great stats, and you can't even customize them, and they Die really easilly... It's just REALLY unpractical, I mean, It's just so much easier to use normal troops - at least the cost lesser and doesn't take that much of a space in the Party menu. It's really hard to manage them this way.
Personally, though I see your reason, I think this feature in't that good Idea... Well, It would be great, and Realistic, but it is not really compatible with the current warband mechanics (I hope Bannerlord will fix that). I mean, if you would do them all mortal it would be much more fair, but this feature doesn't really work with the game.
I mean, the Idea is great, but with current game mechanics it looks really... Rusty. And Bulky. Personally, my favorite part about companions wasn't them being immortal, but rather the option to customise them. And when i try to customise yours, I just lose half of my inventory (Bug I encountered a lot before, when you try to customise some troops in other mods).
Well, as I said, you'll be able to costumize the NPCs for yourself soon, a new full upload/patch will come in the summer I hope.
one more thing: there is plenty of immortal NPCs... the rest ~10-15 are the mortal ones only (out of 70). Consider them elite as elite sellswords, not as NPCs, that' all B|
I got your point, But:
1. How soon? (Drooling) :D
2. Can't actually consider them elite since they die too easilly, beilieve me, and half of them got REALLY bad equipment, so I even ca't them help to survive properly... (( And yes, as far as I remeber, there's 66 of them.
well, if you can't wait, why don't you modify them for yourself?
put Morgh's Editor in the mod folder, launch it, select troop editor, search for "npc" and then go through them, and tick the "hero" box in, (update every single one after it), then save, and that's all
Wow, Thanks! I tend to use troop editor a lot with warband, but personally I try not to mess with some parameters, like the "hero", crashed a module for me once. But if you give me your high permission - thanks a lot, I'll do so. And... Don't take all my wrighting for whining, I love this mod and I play it since eary versions, and God, I am thankfull for it! Your job is amazing, sorry if i took your precious time with this thing...
:D
Sorry to bother you again, but I decided to follow your advice, and Now I encounter a serious problem. I did as you said, but it doesn't work properly.
I changed those markings to "hero", and saved it. And my saved game wher i got them all is dead.
Every time i try to load it, game crashes and i got error message:
"Load error: Invalid number of troops: 20990"
Well, I thought, maybe it's a bug, and i have to try again! So I loaded previous saved game. It loaded fine.
I started almost anew and rode to Jerusalem to collect some men. There i got Antonio.
Than i looked to the party screen, and What do you think?! Antonio had no Health %, instead he was still a normal troop! I tried to inspect his inventory, and What do you think?
I couldn't do anything but to lose half of my own.
Same old story.
Than, for the last stroke, i saved and tried to reload.
Same error - invalid number of troops.
How can you help me, if you can, to solve this?
Thanks anyway.
Did you start a new game? Loading old game is useless, as it has saved for example Antonio as a soldier, not as an NPC
I had this Idea but I didn't want to lose my progress...
Oh dammit, fine. Thanks a lot again!
- Slowly walks away, silently muttering:
"Sheesh, all from the beginning! I'm too old for this... This damn modde...! Ramshin fushin vashneesh... Fsarish foshrosh..."
- Dissolves in the Dark Alley...
Well, I guess i need to Disturb you once more. I understand that this starts to look like a bad joke, but please believe me, it isn't.
I took your advice once more, and started a new game. And I rejoiced! Because it worked! All 66 companions became proper heroes! So what did I do next?
I customized them. Goddamit, I spent the Hell of a time, but I got all 66 proper armor and weapons (Proper in my opinion). So, When my Uber Squadron was complete, and I wanted to test it on some poor fellows, with a deadly luck to be on my way, problems started.
I begun the the battle, and 66 + 1 riders rushed towards the small crowd of bandits for a carnage. I almost died of happines to see that glorious charge!
Until the moment, the game Crashed.
Just Crashed. No errors, or such, just "Stopped working" message. Oh god I was ready to throw my computer out of the window to it's fate!
But I pulled myself together and tried again! And Again! And Again! And once more!
To the same result. With different amount of time, game crashed in combat with different enemies. First time I managhed to clash with some forward enemy riders, before it stopped working. Most other times It didn't even came to that.
I simply have no Idea, what to do.
Oh, but I got one! But I need your help. To give my companions the look I needed, I used... Not really fair ways...
Oh damit, fine. I used the cheat menu. On top of that, I used some items, not all of which were... Compatible with the mod lore, and which I have no Idea how appeared in the cheat item shop (Besides those normal Crusades Era Items).
So now, that game crushes very time that way, precisely in combat, draw me to conclusion that maybe one or more of those items (Which I have no real Idea how you wanted to use in this era, and this region. But hell - It's your mod, and those things are great anyway!) crashes the game! Because you didn't debugged them properly, or else.
But i need your help to tell me, which is the one. It could be something small, something I wouldn't even notice, so please tell me.
Well, I guess you got my Idea. That's the only suggestion I yet have, that could be a reason for crashes.
But as Author and Modder you could of course Know better! Please tell me if you do! I need your help so much!
Thanks.
Always Yours.
Could you please respond? I found out that native 66 companions (uncustomized) Don't crash the game.
But I still Can't find the thing (or Things) that crash it.
I need your help!
(Even though I guess yu're pretty tired of me...)
Normally when I get them I just kill em off
I'm Sorry, What?
Well I think I know the problem, once I encountered a same situation...
It was a horse. It can be found among the non-crusader fantasy items which you have mentioned. The problem is the charge. My mod has 4x charge damage, and those fantasy items are not costumized to my mod, as only few of them is used in the mod, the rest is just copied in as I was lazy to add the essential items one by one. So search the red barded war horse among those items, which has an eagle on her ***. That crushed the game for me (the exact moment of the charge - that's why sometimes you was able to raech the enemy; when the guy with that horse was slower than you). Simply throw away that horse from your army.
Think that some teutonic horse has the same problem, but I didn't figured out yet which one is it. I hope it helps.
Wow, one moment I lost the hope to see the reply and just stopped Checking for answer for about... couple of weeks...
But anyway! Thanks a lot! I'll try that! Sheesh I tried almost every doubting item, like those fantasy bows and arrows, never though it would be a horse...
Im receiving RGL Error text after I beat the bandit in the Opening of the Game.
Convincing followers to stay says it takes 11 denars but takes thousands. Will there be a fix?
sorry, I don't think so... be generous :P :)
I receive a runtime error while the game is loading. is it possible that this is because I have Warband version 1.158 ?

every time when i see that helmet i throw up my dinner straight to the toilet
When I try to launch it, I get this error "get_object failed for texture: byzantineswords". Also it is an RGL ERROR, if that makes any sense.
