Crosscurrent is a collection of what-if scenarios. These will cover the Star Wars universe from the Old Republic to the Legacy Era. Bigger mods that cover multiple eras (or have the potential to) will have sub-mods that focus only on one era at a time. These sub-mods will eventually branch to Halo, Star Trek, Stargate, Mass Effect, Battlestar Galactica, Wing Commander, Babylon 5, Starship Troopers, Warhammer 40k, etc. All of the models used belong to their respective creators. Initial changes only involve XML and LUA files. I’ll keep the credits file updated. If there is any info I missed, please let me now and I’ll update it. A big thanks to all of the other modders for inspiring and helping me over the years. I'd also like to thank Manii for letting me use the Star Wars Galaxy Map.

This is the overview of planned features and goals.

Welcome to Crosscurrent. There will be 4 phases of development.

Phase 1 will be like the first file I uploaded, a demo of the features I’ve added. I’ll keep updating it over time as I get more ideas. The next few changes will be re-arranging the planets to be more in line with the online Galaxy Map (http://www.swgalaxymap.com/), adding new GCs or modifying existing ones. This can be installed by overwriting the base game files. I’ll list the folders or files (if there are only a few) that will be overwritten in case you need to make a backup.

Phase 2 will be sub-mods for other mods. I will only use assets from the mod, base game, or free-release items. Version 1 will be generic changes such as defenses, planet placement. Version 2 will include new campaigns or modify campaign layouts. Version 3 will split/add factions and change up the units for factions. For example: Battlefront Commander and Absolute Chaos (among others) have enough Empire units that it can be split into the Galactic Empire, Imperial Remnant, and possibly some warlord factions. If a mod has too many factions (16 is the current limit) already I’ll make two or more sub-mods to spread it out. The same goes for mods that span across different eras (might have a sub-mod per era). I will also add new GCs for the new factions to cover a broader time period.

Phase 3 will be stand-alone mods. These will use use assets from other mods (with permission, no I haven’t asked yet but I’ll get there). There will be at least one main mod per era, with slight overlapping if possible, as well as one that covers new canon. EX: Old Republic, Clone Wars, Galactic Civil War, Imperial Civil War, Yuuzhan Vong Invasion, Legacy Era, and new canon.

Phase 4 will start covering other sci-fi universes. This will have different versions like in Phase 2. There will be a sub-mod per universe as well as Galaxies at War and Scifi at War. Some factions may be split into timeline versions if they have too many units. The stand-alone versions will be scenario based with certain types of factions.

Some extra notes:
-Any new or modified GCs will only use the planets that are available in the respective mod. There will likely be a small and large version of some of the GCs for people who have trouble running bigger maps.
-I already have the factions, unit lists, planet lists, defenses, and galactic conquest spreadsheets done, I just need to put them into XML.
-The defenses for Phase 2 might be different from Phase 3 due to Phase 2 being reliant on the mod it is used on.
-I’m still working on balancing the spreadsheets for space/land, structures, units, and projectiles.
-I will edit trade-routes if some planets end up isolated. I won’t overhaul trade-routes until later on.
-There will not be a Steam workshop version of these until I’m done with Phase 2. Once on the workshop I'll try to keep the sub-mods updated to keep in line with any major updates to the parent mod.
-There is not a timeline for any of the releases since I work on this in my spare time.
