First of all, make sure that you have this installed:

If that doesn't solve your problems, read below

Problem: My game won't launch; I click on "launch" and nothing happens
Solution: Install everything that is specified above

Problem: My game won't launch; I get a "hl2.exe stopped working" message
Solution: Install everything that is specified above

Problem: My game won't launch; it crashes right after the intro
Solution: Install bin folder correctly or remove any addons you might have

Problem: NUM_FOR_EDICT: bad pointer
Solution: Install bin folder correctly and make sure you are launching CS:SO and not CS:S

Problem: Failed to load the launcher DLL
Solution: Install bin folder correctly by replacing files within the original folder, NOT by removing the original folder first

Problem: Invalid or corrupt background texture
Solution: Install bin folder correctly

Problem: DispInfo_Load: nDisplacements (number) > MAX_MAP DISPINFO (2048)
Solution: Install bin folder correctly

Problem: Can't load corrupted map
Solution: Install bin folder correctly

Problem: Could not load library client
Solution: Either you are launching CS:S instead of CS:SO or you didn't install the bin folder correctly

Problem: CS:SO doesn't appear in my Steam library
Solution: Make sure that you are downloading a STANDALONE version OR installing a patch ON TOP OF PREVIOUS VERSION, and that you install CS:SO in your Steam folder even if you have a separate folder for Steam games

Problem: Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'csso'.
Solution: Download Standalone version of the mod and not Patch and make sure that you installed CS:SO in the right folder

Problem: Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'hl2'.
Solution: You're launching the game incorrectly or you have incorrect launch parameters

Problem: Server is enforcing simple material
Solution: Most likely you've got sv_enablemodelbounds set to 1. Set it to 0

Problem: Instead of proper text, I've got #Cstrike_blahblahblah lines
Solution: You didn't install the mod correctly or you are not playing on English, Russian or Simplified Chinese language

Problem: I have a lot of purple (missing) textures/reflections
Solution: mat_specular 0

Problem: My hands are invisible, player models are invisible or I have other graphical glitches regarding player models and arm models
Solution: It's clearly stated what to do when you launch the game, but yeah, r_flashlightdepthtexture 0

Problem: The game crashes when I try to open server browser
Solution: Cope with it (cracked game won't show game servers either way) or buy Steam version of CS:S (yes, this isn't a mod bug, it's a bug with broken crack)
