Cossack Annihilation removes pop cap and does a few other things that make the game a vastly different experience. The player will primarily build economy solely for the purpose of building large armies quickly rather than to afford buildings. Buildings will not have any scaling costs anymore. 18th century is now unlocked with the academy, which you can build after getting the artillery depot and the cathedral. Capturable buildings suicide always when captured. The capturable buildings include town centers, houses, markets and mines. You cannot capture any units anymore. Towers now serve as defenders for the purpose of guarding buildings, they (and stone walls) can also be attacked by melee units.
