I really like this mod. I understand the desire for cheats, but that is not the purpose of the mod. Imagine if in real life, human beings got by on cheat codes like God or Coder...you'd never learn anything. You'd breeze through the mod in a lightning pace, and for what? You'll end up cheapening the experience and story set by the creators. If anyone wants to cheat in MP2, play the base game or a mod that allows it(It's really that simple).To the creators, keep the mod as is. It's dope as **** and I like having something to go back to for the challenge. This mod reminds me of a time when I was younger and would play MP and MP2 on each difficulty just to feel like I accomplished something. Figuring out ways to take down your enemies is fun as hell, and trial and error is truly warranted here(save often). Good work mercenaries.

I like it a lot because for once you are not an unstoppable killing machine so the action has some weight to it, not only special effects like most mods and the original MP2. Every weapon and skin is new so it feels a lot like a total conversion even if the story and levels are the same. The weapons are balanced and the ammo capacity has you juggling between them and learning to use each (or most of them) effectively.

You learn to appreciate the element of surprise, which enemies to pick on first, environmental effects such as slamming them with doors, checking your ammo before running to the fight, a well placed grenade/molotov, the moments where game lets you catch a breath (especially the Vinnie's lot level), managing your BT and shootdodge, and so on. Whenever you win a fight the enemies are left outsmarted, not made a joke of. Reminds me of playing MP1 the first time, only this time your clips don't refill themselves if you decide to finish with shootdodge, but it's still in no way a useless move.

Health and Painkillers, which basically let you take one more hit out of six you have, are fair enough, however it wouldn't hurt the gameplay if BT refilled a bit quicker so you would enter new battles a little more fresh each time (I mean you can just stand still and wait if you really want to so why not). The only real problem I remember was at times a serious offset with the aim and/or inability to even find the reticle on screen in certain environments. It sometimes let's you (think you can) get away with corner peeking to the side and other times not.

I like the mod. But I wish this had a different story. There are only 2 new maps.
