Conquest is a single player mod for Quake. There are several outstanding features, some of which are done already (such as the shop, shielding, and many weapons), others aren't. As always, visit the homepage occasionally for updates. Shop ==== There's a shop in town that's always open. You can buy and sell weapons, ammo, shields, and items, and convert gold to credits. There are also other shops located in various locations around each level (and you can heal yourself there, though the inn is much cheaper), but their prices are slightly higher. You can navigate the shop menus using the arrow keys to move the selection around, and pressing attack and jump/altfire to select or cancel. Weapons ======= You have 5 slots for holding weapons. You can buy whatever weapons you want, and even buy a weapon multiple times. In fact, you can buy 5 railguns if you can afford it; however, it's beneficial to have a variety of weapons so you can deal with whatever shielding the enemy...

Description

This is my first shot on this hell knight. That
large green shield you see should have blocked the
whole shot, but the sniper bullet pierced right
through. The shield layers underneath blocked much
of the damage afterwords, but at least I did 1/4th
of his health instead of 0. My next shot should be
even luckier.
The target will also have the interference status
for a while, making it even more likely that my
attacks will bypass the shielding.

That's what's nice about the piercing
sniper rifle. Sometimes the bullet will pierce all
3 layers of shielding and just trash the target on
the inside. Other times you won't be so
lucky. You also have to be careful because firing
this weapon places the interference status on YOU,
making you very vulnerable.
But the ability to penetrate all shielding makes
it all worth it. And having something like
mini-turrets attacking the enemy while you snipe
it makes even better use of the interference
status you inflict them with.
