Just today I realized that I have let Conquest of Life to fall to the second page of mods. I do not mean that in a way that this mod must be in the first place all the time like some mods seem to, but rather that I have not updated this mod in a long time. I have been struggling a ton with my motivation as some of you might know already, and therefore there was really nothing to update about. However, now I am here writing about the future of this mod and the future of myself.
The mod is not and will not be cancelled. No matter what happens it will be finished. I will jump to the Moon or walk through a boulder, but the mod will be released. Despite the state of the community as it is now, (the community of which my thoughts are purely negative at this exact point..) I have not given up.
Why?
Because I know that there are a few people who actually try their everything to keep the flame of the community lit to the last sparkle. I will put my two cents by finishing the mod I have started over a year ago now (holy **** actually, it is been so long already). My dream when I was a little Shyrtexx in 2012 was to create a good custom story. I have made two custom stories already, not being satisfied with either of them though. Deep inside me I know that I want to finish it, and I know that there are people who care about this project. I promised myself to make a good custom story and promises are meant to be kept. This is no exception.
I will be working on the mod now and you can expect to get to see a few new pictures soon.

I'm finally making a comeback for the development of CoL.

After being saddened by the fact that this is left discontinued, I'm still glad I gave this a go since it went under my radar when it came out.
Now, since I just played the Orion remastered, I'm even more sure about the 6.5 score I gave there. THIS. IS. IT. This is how you do mods, it's by far the best stuff you have created.
Design is a bit outscaled by the new version of Orion, but that's the only thing. Take some inspiration there design-wise, and this is what I'd like to see continued in your next release.
- Clever usage of base assets on multiple occasions
- Nice atmosphere for the most part, bit too simple undergruond, and a bit too many lamps above.
- Unique puzzle elements. You already took my advice on being more creative like with the fire, water and earth puzzle before, just continue along this path.
- I'd try experimenting with different monsters, but the brute did its job here, and it wasn't overused.
I'm glad we could try this out, I wish you luck in your current projects!

I played a bit of the demo and it has potential. I really like the level design, gives me AMFP vibes. The only con about it is the volume of the voice. I cant hear the character's voice but that is only a small problem. easily fixed. I like this Custom Story
Hey, thanks for the comment! Yeah, I really screwed up the volume :/ I had it fixed on version 2.0 of the demo, but I had to remove it because I screwed other stuff even more. I might release another version of this, hopefully with everything fixed!
