M113, AKA Project Reality's Walking Coffin to anything and everything.
you are OH so right....
No way, this isn't correct, this should start out like a halftrack where you can choose to upgrade or transport.
Correct me if i am wrong, the US/USMC don't use this as a transport anymore that is why they made the Stryker and the Bradley, that could be why they are using it as a Mortar carrier not the troop transport.
Wrong, the M113 is one of the oldest APC's still in use with the U.S. millitary, however the Marines almost never used it. The U.S. Army still uses it today because it has better protection than the striker, which is the real coffin, the Bradly was not built to replace the M113 etither, it was built to compete with the Soviets IFV's, the thing that seperates both light platforms from the M113 is amphibious ability, but the remaining M113's still in use are used as moble HQ's, anit air gattling cannons, and yes mortar platforms
You can add a browning m2 on the hatch? the Italian army mounted on obsolete VCC2 (copy of the M113) a turret armed with Browning m2 or in rare cases MG42\59 while maintaining the function mortar
