It opens, then closes without an error message or anything :( it says im playing it on steam, for like 2 seconds before sending me back to 'online' status not play CoH... The game hates me :( help?
i have the same problem with 1.016 i got it to run then when i go to skirmish it crashes.no message. just a deep empty hole when MC used to be.
I think the MCinstaller 1.015, originally was design for x64 because spoon give me the key :) program files x86, i have x86 and i dont have that folder only who have x64 need 2 folders t separate two different softwares but the MCinstaller doesnt recognize or i dont know what happen but there is a important bug in the installer about de win version.

your download might be corrupt, you'll have to restart it. sorry
if you had slow connection, use download manager, if fail, u don't have to restart download from beginning
Finally. THe old launcher sucked. Poped out a bug and won't update.

Ive got opposing fronts , ive been using daemon tools for a while off-line ( like the original coh was before the pricks DRM infested it)
Now im using another fix and even that is no longer required.
I loath steam - friggin DRM parasite that it is, only play lan anyway with real people :)
I have a problem with the campaign it keeps getting fatal errors when the main forces arrives

Yeah it should still work. But you won't be compatible online with Relaunch players.

Download the new 1.015 release, it includes everything preceding it. It's the one you'll need now anyway.

You didn't install the patches properly. You need to extract the contents of the .rar patches into your CoH root folder in order, 1001 then 1002, then 1003 etc...
Also you should use the new 1015. Even if you don't have steam relaunch version you can install the 1015 in your old 2.602 CoH

So this isn't even a complete installation anymore I guess?
I downloaded the v1.015 installer, and it didn't come with any of the -actual- files that go with the game. Am I just supposed to transfer the .exe over from my CoH folder and keep trying to start it up until I find every .dll file that this installer is missing?
It includes everything you need. We cleaned a lot of the existing files out.
What files, EXE and DLLs are you referring to?
Strange, as there's no .exe in the installer package and I've downloaded and reinstalled it twice (and searched through the CoH Relaunch folder) to be sure. So I had to take my RelicCOH.exe from my CoH folder and drop it in here, but running that it gives me an error and asks me for every .dll in the original folder (Debug.dll, Xthread.dll, Bugsplat.dll, etc...)
You sure it was the 1.015 installer you downloaded? The actual download was a single EXE, there was no package.
And you definitely don't need to move the RelicCOH EXE around.

Any word on this? I'm still waiting to play the mod, but without a modern combat .exe, that becomes kind of difficult...
It shouldn't have created the Relaunch folder, you should have already downloaded that from Steam (free if you have your original CD keys).
Once the mod is installed, you don't have a separate EXE for MC, you just create a shortcut to the existing RelicCOH exe. As explained here:

this is so confusing... after the old version went away, i could launch or update at all. so i deleted it, redownloaded and now when i try to install the mod i can't find the modern combat launcher in my coh folder anywhere. maybe im too tired and cant find it, but can someone please help?
Are you using the new Steam version?
You should be installing it to your CoH root folder, not the ModernCombat subfolder. In fact, if there was a ModernCombat subfolder there you'd have needed to delete it anyway. 1.015 is a totally new release that requires you to remove the old version. :)
