A massive rip in the in the very fabric of reality was caused inadvertently by the Scrins use of their rift weapon. This anomaly would eventually be known has the Dimensional rift. The effects were devastating, the time line was shattered and suddenly people, events, vehicles even buildings suddenly ceased to exist. Suddenly both GDI & Nod had vastly altered armies. Old technology was mixed in with the new, briefly the war was suspended, has both armies struggled to come to terms with both their loses and their new additions. And what of the Scrin? completely unaffected! It was 3 weeks after the dimensional rift that the first skirmish occurred. Nod forces destroyed a relief convoy that was moving to assist a small GDI outpost, all personnel were lost. Belatedly GDI declared war on Nod, the tools of war may have change, but Tiberium was still present, Kane still alive and mankind's future still uncertain.

Report RSS "Target their bridge... full Disruptors!"

This is one sonic shower that GDI's enemies won't want to face!

This is the final addition for Release 4, and could be the last addition to close the Tiberian History series.

GDI was lacking something...

There is no doubting the incredible power of their aerial and ground units. No one is questioning the might of their armoured divisions. Hell, if the ground forces of GDI are large enough, the earth literally
rumbles when they approach.

But still...

You see while Nod cannot hope to match the armoured might of GDI, there is one aspect of battle were GDI is not even close... base destruction.

Nod... especially since the reintroduction of the fearsome Devil's Tongue, can wipe out even a medium sized base in a matter of minutes, and with minimal units.

Their artillery pieces, when using the powerful blue tiberium warheads, can cheaply annihilate a base.

GDI are quite impressive, but they tend to labour over building destruction. Has such, GDI end up doing a lot more fighting, and Nod... knowing how long it takes GDI to destroy a base, will load GDI forces with lots of cheap cannon fodder to keep them occupied, while they in-turn pack up all their key units and structures and engage in one of Nod's legendary 'hasty retreats'.

That is all just about to change...

"Somebody's in sooo much trouble!"

The Disruptor's are back, and structural destruction is going to be a piece of cake once again!
You know the drill... a Sonic wave is fired, and anything that gets in it's way is shattered! Have fun!

The 'Optimal Tiberium Harmonic Resonance beam' aka 'The Crystal crusher'
The OTHR beam, referred to as the 'Crystal crush' by army personnel, is the result of years of finely tuning sonic crystals to perfect their ability to destroy tiberium. The beam produced from an OTHR crystal can violently shatter even microscopic concentrations of crystalline tiberium.
The OTHR beam is not without controversy (the entire sonic crystal program is fraught with controversy). For one, despite the hundreds of millions poured into researching ways of clearing tiberium... not that much tiberium clearing seems to occur.
Cynics (some refer to them has 'conspiracy theorists') have suggested that, since a large section of GDI funding is sourced by groups who have profited massively from trading in tiberium, these groups have used their influence to make sure that their primary source of income is not destroyed.

Even more controversial, is the use of the OTHR beam as a weapon.
The OTHR beam is massively more potent against anything that either uses, is derived from, or stores tiberium.
GDI's two main enemies rely massively on tiberium, the Scrin having a number of units that can ingest & use tiberium as a weapon. And as for Nod, they are notorious for using tiberium as a weapon at every available opportunity, a case in point being their immoral usage of tiberium to enhance the combat capabilities of their troops.

The OTHR beam used as a weapon would be a minimum of 20 times more effective against these tiberium dependant targets, when compared to a standard weaponised sonic beam.

But no, not the oh-so-moral GDI.

The tiberium addendum to the Geneva convention specifically bans the use of optimised tiberium harmonic weaponry against living tiberium dependant entities.
It was assumed that this was written in reference to the tiberium mutants known as 'the Forgotten', but the UN interpreted it as meaning all tiberium dependant lifeforms, including tiberium infused Nod soldiers and even the hostile alien lifeforms that used tiberium!

This enraged military commanders, who saw it has bureaucrats, yet again, forcing them to fight earth's greatest war with both hands tied behind their backs.

But the UN was serious, very serious.

When general Thomas McKinley ordered the use of OTHR enhanced weapons on an army of Scrin ground troops (the famous 'Geneva offensive', when the Scrin surprised the UN with the first recorded usage of mass ground teleportation to attack the UN, at the heart of UN operations), the devastation McKinley caused to the Scrin army so startled them, that the Scrin fled!
To date that is still the only recorded occasion that the Scrin have ever retreated in the midst of a battle.

McKinley's reward? a court martial from his superiors.

So there you have it, use the standard Disruptor beam to destroy structures with ease, but if you get hold of an OTHR crystal, make sure that you only use it to clear tiberium... your military career could depend upon it!

If you have any questions has to the operation of the Disruptor weapon this would be a good time to ask, once the mod is released it'll be too late.

Could you make the Disruptor effect weapon file available as a modding resource??? I've seen a lot of mods but few have gotten it that close to Tib:Sun......

Sure, it needs further testing though.

I need to stress test the method used, to see how well it works ingame and to refine the code.

Madin, just so you know you, you do not need to write a "h" in front of "as"

Going back to important matters, this threat of not using the Crystal Crusher reminds me of MEC2's mythical LAW system, have you got a hold of it or are you just joking about that we are going to get demoted for its use against units rather then structures?

There is no penalty for using it.

However... the idea of the weapon draining the firing Disruptor's experience points if used against certain targets is very interesting!

Way to go UN !

Now if I target the enemy tib field in the enemy territory how fast would it be gone ?

Well since it is able to clean tib fields can it accept tib crystals as a valid target without the need to force fire on them ?

Nope.
It is a neutral target has always.
