The mod is set in a different command and conquer dimension to that of Generals, the year is 2027, six years after the third world war has started, three factions battle it out to reclaim their land and reclaim their rights.

We start at the year 2018, the main terrorist force in Afghanistan is dead. In a final effort the Taliban who spread a message of propaganda which made their enemies tremble in fear and innocent civilians join their cause, all in the name of Allah. The UN who were protecting these civilians whilst fighting the Taliban became weak, and soon became so unstable and over-militarized they launched a nuclear weapon on the middle east, killing millions. Many of the terrorist leaders fled to the north to find comrades to join their cause. The first to join was Russia, being the second largest military force in the world, this was to be a genuine threat. Russia and the Taliban shared a common enemy, the United states of America and their allies.
2020, Russia have sent a fleet to south Asia and unite with Vietnam further expanding their federation, troops continue to Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Bangladesh and are beginning to occupy India. this puts pressure on China and both North and South Korea.
2021, China support North Korea and South Korea, Chinese troops march into north Korea to repel the soviet invasion, all is hopeless. North Korean troops rebel against china and the Chinese troops are pushed back into south Korea.
Time has moved on, we are now at the year 2023, 5 years after the nuclear strike on the middle east. The Taliban and Russia occupy north Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. UN forces take the battle to Europe, building defences along the borders.
2025, China, watching the world dwindle it's supplies and military forces. knowing that they cannot win the war alone, make an alliance with Japan (who are incredibly weak after the soviet invasion of 2023). using this alliance to gain access to some of the most powerful technology in the world.
2026, World war 3 Begins.

Good another mod for a great game.
I looked at your factions and have some suggestions, some of your factions are interesting choices.
-The UN (United Nations) I'm assuming is the main faction? The US is the prime contributor to these armed forces, and largely includes most sub-factions you have stated in in other factions. Also they're meant for peace keeping, aid/relief operations rather then a fighting force. It would be better to name it NATO faction to add realism.
-United Kingdom would do better in the European Union, but you could add Israeli Forces in its place since you're going for stealth.
-Communist Federation is missing Cuba, and you might want to check out the news on Venezuela & Brazil for their guerrilla fighters & drug lords. Russia although formidable has given way to China...which brings me to the next suggestion.
-Asian Empire: China, Japan & South Korea have been at odds with each other since early history, all are very proud of their heritage. China backs North Korea, while Japan is in dispute with China and alarmed by North Korea's missile tests. Territory in the China Sea between all of them is also an issue between all of them. The chances of all ever becoming an Asian Empire is slim. South Korea, Taiwan & maybe Japan would be the better option in factions. Japan however has taken a vow of pacifism after the two Atomic Bombs were dropped and were only allowed a limited "police" force while US bases became its protection. I would no doubt believe that Japan would be a force to reckon with should it be allowed to develop a robot military...which I believe fits your special tech faction.

@OmeG Thank you for you detailed comment, after revising and comparing to my back-story and information that I'll be posting shortly, if you could do me the favour of reading through the history, etc. and give me some ideas to improve realism, I'll be happy to oblige.
I'd be happy to. I love realism, & since this takes place in the future it might also help to watch some "Future Weapons" episodes from discovery channel.
I'll try to use your layout and play on it.
I agree, although, I think that it might be a little better if it were something more like, North Korea, EU, Japan, US against Russia, China, North Korea, etc. . . (see where I'm going primarily democratic countries against communist countries. It's just a suggestion though, it is your mod and I suppose a lot could change between now and 2027.
