A Red Alert 3 total conversion aiming to bring C&C Generals Zero Hour onto the new engine as well as to expand upon it.
Since there are no external programs for editing RNA particles, just pure imagination and text editor, i decided to use external particle effects creator for special particle effects. Let's say, complicated particle effects with around ~1000 particles, prerendered as animation ( 4096x4096 ) is easy to process for engine. So i decided to use them for special effects like special explosions, SW fx's. It looks nice too.
I am genuinely surprised that RNA capable to handle 4096x4096 in particle effects render.
4k x 4k textures? That's the resolution I use for 3D weapons! :P Hope it wont be too cumbersome on people's systems. You might wanna share yours, for reference :)
You see, such texture is easier to process than ~2000 particles on screen for engine, and no worries, when the mod comes out you will get everything from it.
My system is "highly" capable of running anything on the market now xD But sometimes, the people with the higher end machines forget that there are people who are still rocking the 512mb cards w/ 512mb RAM etc. :)
