Summary:

The goal of Generals Evolution is to remake C&C Generals on Red Alert 3 engine, in other words it's a total conversion of Red Alert 3,
which features better online play, better graphics fidelity and stability.
Generals Evolution also bring new units, overhauled visuals, new maps, new sounds and game feel.
Please note that it's not 1:1 port of C&C Generals and it's not meant to replace original game, but rather imitate it as close as it is possible.

Generals Evolution was designed to work only on Windows based systems and with legit copy of the game, either from Steam or Origin,
DVD copy won't work due to inability to inject mod critical engine fixes.

Please also note that this is the initial beta of the mod, a lot of things are not implemented or outright broken,
we're aware of all the issues and problems and will fix them in future releases. If you get random crashes or issues - there's nothing we can do right now,
we'll try to fix them in future releases.

######################HOW TO INSTALL###################### :

It is very critical that you patch your Red Alert 3 .game file to enable Large Address Aware flag,
otherwise you will encounter random crashes and glitches, please use this handy tool to patch Red Alert 3 Game Data file :

1) Make sure to launch Red Alert 3 at least once on your system, tweak graphical and resolution settings to your likings.
2) Unzip contents of the archive anywhere on your pc ( for example D:/Games/GenEvo/ ).
3) Launch GenEvo.exe and hit Play, alternatively use provided GenEvo - Windowed Mode.bat to play in Windowed mode.
4) Enjoy!

Perks of using Launcher, which was made by Darth Jane :

1) Native C&C Online integration, you only need your login details.
2) Fixed crashes when firing from containers ( for example commanding infantry inside humvee to forcefire at anything ),
3) Easy to install and work with.

######################IF YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH PROPER INSTALL###################### :

!!!!!!!!!!!!This method of installing and playing mod is highly unstable and prone to random crashes and asset unloading ( pink textures ), only use as last-ditch effort!!!!!!!!!!!!

2) Navigate to your Documents/Red Alert 3 folder ( for example C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Red Alert 3\ ) and make Mods folder.
3) Open up your Mods folder and Make GenEvo folder inside of it.
4) Put GenEvo_B0.1.skudef, GenEvo_B0.1_Misc.big and GenEvo_B0.1_Streams.big into it. Here's an example of where files should be placed ( C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Red Alert 3\Mods\GenEvo\ )
5) Launch Red Alert 3 with -ui parameter and select Game Broswer and choose Mods tab, double click on GenEvo.
6) Enjoy?

Again, this method is highly prone to crashes and random asset unloading issues ( pink textures ), only use this if you're desperate to play this and for some reason
launcher doesn't work for you. Just be aware that this method is not officially supported and feedback/issues won't be taken.
Having infantry inside bunkers/vehicles and commanding them to forcefire at anything will crash the game, this is fixed in launcher.
