In the nineteenth century, an occultist named William Carter discovers gateways to other places in time and space. Reality starts collapsing around him, slowly melting into nameless cosmic horrors. As he tries to understand his visions and find a way to stop them, he will see that he is not the first to make that journey, and that those who came before him brought back to Earth demented things that would have been better left alone.

This story is absoutely amazing! It really looks like you spent a lot of time on it.
Level design is stunning and the story is intresting. Not the scariest story I've played, but thanks to the well made atmopshere, it was pretty tense anyway.

The only "bad" things I can say about it is:

The quests were relativly easy. Some of them required some logic thinking, but still not very advanced and not hard to solve.

You don't use any supplies at all (tinderboxes, oil, sanity potions etc). They were not really necessary untill the "boss" battle (which were a challange), but they do give players a reason to explore more than required. As it is now, all I have to do is get what I need and move on. I don't need to search that extra room or check behind the pile of crates because it's nothing there anyway.

The final score is 9 because of the huge creativity and really intresting story line. And because I couldn't find any serious glitches and gamebreaking bugs.

9/10 - Awesome

Truly amazing and wonderful this story left me breathless the atmosphere all the textures and design simply outstanding. Looking forward to play more custom stories of yours.

As a writer, I recommend this story to everyone.
This mod is one of the most creative I've ever seen, inspired by the dark and fantastic works of H.P. Lovecraft.
The mapping and atmosphere are both gorgeous, and the story will keep you hooked until the very end. This mod is definitely a must-play for all Amnesia fans.
Beautiful.
Well done!

I loved this custom story! I would have rated higher but I am a new member and 8 is the highest allowed. I loved the music and the environments, especially the credit music. The Justine monster, in my opinion, is far more terrifying than the grunt so I was glad to see that sprinting my way. No lantern but it really isn't needed. I found myself spamming the f key to try to settle my nerves to no avail. The game play flowed very smoothly. Amazing story, loved the appearing and disappearing of parts of the mansion. Wish there was more so I could continue playing. Excellent job, especially for a first time modder. I look forward to seeing more custom stories from daortir.

I just have to say that, to be quite honest, this is the best custom story I think I've ever played. Not just in looks but how well it was all executed and how well the story was portrayed. I have never seen someone base a story around Howard's work before, it was truly flawlessly done.

The maps were fantastic. The music was an amazing choice. There's not a single thing wrong with this story. The atmosphere was beautiful, the maps were so well decorated and designed. Not having a lantern didn't bother me in the least because it never got terribly dark. It's not terribly scary so someone who's into playing an atmospheric story can easily enjoy this one.

Ah, it was just amazing I loved it so dearly. Giving it any less than a 10/10 would be unjust on my part. I hope there's more to come.

While having one of the best level designs I've seen, it's basically a walking sim with little to no "scariness" in it. It didn't really work for me personally, but there's definitely a lot of individuality in it.

Today, I stumbled across The Silver Key by complete chance, reading an old article from 2014.
Released some years ago, indeed… still, it does not mean it lacks quality!

The story was rather interesting, nicely put in place.
The environments become very original as you progress.
Kudos for the design! By the way, the end was really creative! 💯

The atmosphere is nicely crafted plus the level of detail is good.
Liked the colour palette & sound design. New music tracks fit the mood as well.

There were a few minor bugs, more sound effects could have been used with interactions… but it's definitely a must-play.

I don't try Amnesia mods often, last time was in March 2020 (already!).
I'm glad I gave this little gem a whirl, so go ahead: it is in the top of the basket! 👍

Great custom story with an interesting concept/story, good level design and interesting environments to explore. The only thing that I thought was sub-par in this story was the final "boss." A pretty poorly made action sequence where if you die; you will respawn but the scene will not reset, so you may die instantly upon spawning back. You can wait a bit so the objects you need to progress appear and there's truly no challenge to be had here, this section is bad. The rest of the custom story is great though, quality Amnesia experience.
