This Custom Story for Amnesia - The Dark Descent is about the journey an occultist named William Carter will make in other dimensions, and about his exploration of time and space. You will learn about his discoveries in the endless cosmos that lies beneath our reality, about the wonderful things he will witness and about the terrors he will meet. William Carter will travel between the realm of reality, that slowly gets weirder and more demented as the game progresses, and other worlds in which human beings are nothing but a forgotten memory.
Requires the Justine DLC !

THIS CUSTOM STORY FEATURES :
- Original mapping. The presence of otherworldly dimensions throughout the mod has allowed me to be creative with the assets, and I bet some areas will have a "never-seen-before" look.
- Detailed mapping. The maps are original but also as detailed as I could do. Check out the Images to give your feedback on my maps if you didn't do it yet ! I am always ready to learn !
- A storyline based on Lovecraft's short stories. Despise not being copying a short story's storyline, I based myself on Lovecraft's universe of cosmic mysteries.
- Custom Music
- I am not sure yet and I NEED your impressions about it, but I am considering to make this mod without the lantern. The maps are very well lit and don't require any aditional light source. The lantern is going to be pointless if I add it and I hate to add pointless things when it comes to gameplay. So, most likely, no lantern. Still waiting for feedback on that point though !

Hi everyone,
I promised I would keep the watchers updated about this mod, and I am doing it right now !
Call of the Abyss had the time to mature quite a lot this year while I was busy with completing the first year of my post high school cursus, and I now have four months ahead of me with little to do except working on this project.
That's about it, I am now resuming full-speed development, there will be a little time before I start mapping but I will try to upload some concepts into ModDB so you guys know that I'm working hard on the project, since it might not always be easy to realize without screenshots.
As always, thanks for every form of support towards my projects, it always brightens my day.
I wish everyone a great summer, and I am going back to work !

I absolutely loved this custom story. It wasn't as terrifying as others but the lack of a lantern and resources kept it consistently suspenseful and nerve-racking. I felt like I was playing more than just an Amnesia Mod. Good job on this and I am so looking forward to more mods from you! Excellent work for a first mod!

Looks awesome but Amnesia keeps on crashing whenever i click to play the map. Any ideas?

I would have to say, this map is a definite 10/10, it's a good custom story with challenging puzzles and scary moments added too, I will say that in a lot of part's I didn't know what to do, but I eventually found out what I had to do, I ended up defeating the elder and the ending was a good one also, the music in this game is a masterpiece, and I hope to see you make a lot of other custom story's also, heck, maybe you could follow this one up with part 2 of it.

a sure 10/10! you created one of my favourite mods as it turned out. even it wasn't even a bit scary (well maybe it's just for me, whatever), and there were no use for any lamps, the story and the atmosphere got me really and forced to finish it without a pause. also i found it a bit short and easy but it's so unique and fantastically designed that i don't care about all these mentioned points. you created this mod in my world, in the visions and ancients secrets, i also prefer this theme very much. only one thing we need: continuation! take you time, but you must make a sequel! thanks for this great cs :)
