Cold War Crisis (CWC) is a Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour total conversion. It takes place in the 80s, and features infantry, vehicles and aircraft of that era.
CWC offers two factions: the Soviet Union (USSR) and the United States of America (USA). The Soviets tend to use tanks and artillery, whereas the USA relies on aircraft and other high-tech units. In contrast to vanilla Generals, infantry plays a more prominent and deadly role. The mod's gameplay is a mix of realism and fun, i.e., it is more realistic than vanilla Generals, featuring real-life weapon systems and characteristics, while still emphasizing each faction's strengths and weaknesses.

We released a re-packaged version of Cold War Crisis v1.5 Final (v469) for easier installation on modern systems (ssleay32.dll errors be gone!). CWC works with vanilla ZH (patched to version 1.04), as well as the many compilation releases of the game, just make sure you install it in the right directory (how-to).
This release is also compatible with GenPatcher (which fixes common ZH problems on Windows 10+) and GenTool (which improves ZH generally and includes essential improvements). Additionally, CWC is now available through GenLauncher (the ZH mod manager). All three are recommended to enjoy ZH and its many mods.

Can anyone help me? I cant use the launcher because im having this error where I cant download .NET framework 2.0 and 3.5. my framework 4.8 blocks the installation of .NET framework 2.0 and 3.5 for some reason. Is there a way for me to play the mod without using launcher? if so what are the files I should rename?

FYI for those getting the missing "ssleay32.dll" error. I figured out the fix for this is to copy the file contents of the "Core" folder in the zero hour directory into the CWC folder (the same folder the CWC launcher is in).

Thank you so much. I had been searching for a simple solution forever. Had figured out some obscure work around awhile back, but this is much easier.
Anyone knows how to make these anti air vehicles M-48 Chaparral in the US and SA-11 in Russia can fire the aircrafts??????They’re not actually working when I updated to the newest patch.
I think you have to press deploy then when it's done, select it and click the green circle near it.
Knowing this mod from the latest file (map generator and its source code). Started playing the mod and love to play it, expect having trouble and difficulty to play it at first time (new, different mechanic) but I'm still learning to play it (by the manuals)
It's too sad that this mod isn't enough popular (maybe, I don't know/new to this mod) but i just want to say this:
TRULY AWESOME! ONE OF THE BEST MOD I HAVE PLAYED BEFORE.
I don't know if the developer are still maintaining or supporting this mod, but this mod is look very polished with the feel like Army Men RTS and Company of Heroes games and looks very different from any ZH mod I have played before. And hope that the developer team are still supporting or maintaining the mod.
