Eastern Front is a free mod for Company of Heroes. Following the ethos of mimicking a Relic Entertainment expansion pack, Eastern Front has succeeded in adding two full new factions, the Soviet Red Army and the German Ostheer, packed with unique and exciting units to the existing armies - a feat never before achieved in the Company of Heroes world.
This is the Lisunov Li-2 (not to be confused with the Ilyushin Il-2), which was a plane modded from the C47 "lend & lease" by the US. It was used as transport, paratroop, recon, and even bombing aircraft, and was widely used in Stalingrad siege. For Eastern Front, you can be sure it will be used as campaign asset... we will see if it fits for multiplayer/skirmish though ;).

How bad-*** would Russian para's be that were actually dropped and not used as ground forces? Those dropped around Vyazma or Dnepr/Kiev? Reward for Navals? Okay, going out of bounds here haha. Looks really good!
My grandfather was a soviet paratrooper during the war, he served around Stalingrad with the 457th special operations recon detachment, they where considered elite troops, and operated closely with the naval units.
Its a little more then a ball turret. A complete landing gear set that works like the henschel's when its put on a custom map. So the planes propellers turn start turning slowly, it taxis the propellers speed up, and the plane takes off. , there's also the main cargo door that stays open till the plane starts to taxis. In all probability it will be used to make a custom mission of some sort for the campaign. None of that can be shown in the world builder picture :) .
