Several users wanted this behemoth back, we didn't see a problem with that as long as we balance it correctly. Also, this little critter is a special unit for us(the EF Devs) and using it as a mere campaign unit would be a shame.

I'd be in favour of the JT. Although according to the still living Otto Carious the JT was prone to mechanical failures... As were many German tanks for that matter O_o

Looks like it has the normal Kingtiger chassis so it is a bit too short because Jgd Tiger has a longer Chassis.

About those guys fighting the penetration values...
Can't you think a bit when you compare the size and weight of the ammo.
Bigger gun, the more destruction... It's the law of the physics.
Think it this way. You get hit by a small rock by someone.. You start to bleed and it stings... You get hit slower by a BIGGER rock... It hurts a lot =D. Same thing was with Panther vs. Tiger I... Panther's gun had more penetration but it does not damage the tank so much but if Tiger I shot penetrated it DID do more damage.
It's sort of like with the ISU-152. It's gun is a little stubby, but the shells are just, well, big. The mass of these shells allowed it penetrate armor. They did really suck for range though.
The Jagdtiger should come as an option for any player playing. Should he want a mobile fortress or a hit and run tank, he should be allowed to choose. Just like the IS-3, T-34s and the Tiger Ace. The player should be allowed to customize his army for his own style of play.
