What would happen if in 1988, Soviet Leader Mikhail Gorbachev was assassinated? CNC Fallout is a total conversion mod for Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars that postulates this very question.

Hi again, Henford. CnC games and any mod related to it is never truly complete without air power. Someone argued that this is not a realism mod which is true but having air units that can be actively controlled adds a different dimension to the game. Not only is it more fun and immersive for the player because it makes one feel as a general/commander wielding the entire might of your nation but it also adds strategic depth to a game that is well focused on strategy. Granted that there are numerous aircrafts at your disposal from your strategic abilities, it does not give the player the same control and satisfaction of an active Air force due to its one shot with cool down utilization. Here are some suggestions for aircrafts that could be purchasable by the player:

NATO:
Typhoon - Multi-Role
- Carry medium payload
- Afterburner upgrade increases speed
- Flare countermeasure upgrade

USSR
SU-37 - Multi-role
- Carry a lot of payload
- Composite Alloy upgrade increases armor
- Flare countermeasure upgrade

Mil Mi-24 - Heavy attack chopper
- Can transport a single squad
- Reinforced plating upgrade increases armor
- Rocket pods upgrade enable rocket barrage

AUSSIE
F-18 - Multi role
- medium payload
- Flare countermeasures upgrade
- JDAM munitions upgrade increases ground attack accuracy on moving targets

I`m more in favour of modifying and a bit adding combat capabilities for current factions. Fof NATO: JSF payload switch for AA capabilities. For Soviets - Ka 58 Black Ghost AA/Antiinfantry helicopter(Missiles vs Aircrafts, Guns vs Infantry and Light vechicles). For Australians - some kind of VTOL experemental UCAV with AA Missiles.

These sound good to me, but If I heard right the F35 which is in the game currently is an Air superiority fighter so it should be loaded out with missiles and another aircraft such as the Typhoon you suggested could fill the ground support role, or the Apache could just fill that role already.

The USSR could use some aircraft, but that would require another building or an addition to a current building. If anything the Mi-24 should fill the USSRs lacking airforce alone. To me it seems it would be a ground support helicopter, but the rocket pod upgrade could give it some AA missiles as a light defense or offense against other Aircraft.

And the flare countermeasures seem kind of pointless since only one or two AA units actually use rockets, and if you plan on giving it to all factions might as well have them integrated into aircraft by default.

Current changes that have been made for v0.2 is the abilty of JSF to attack air and ground targets, and the introduction of the Hind for the USSR.

Adding controllable jets is odd, as C&C3 only contains the logic for VTOL aircraft. JSF fit this role perfectly.

What we are left with is a mod with plenty of Airforce, but the majority called in air support (similar to World in Conflict).

It would be pretty silly seeing an SU-37 in a VTOL configuration.

how about the YAK-141 or the YAK-38 and rather then the F-18 how about the harrier

The thing with the Harrier is that Australia do not operate Harriers, but they are the world's second largest operator of Hornets (behind USA).

I was thinking of the YAK-141, but might just leave it with the Hind for controllable air power.

In support, the USSR have the Su-47, Tu-160, Mi-26 and An-225; combined with the airship, that's a fair amount of Soviet air power.

ok that's reasonable

A Yak-141 would be perfect. There is just something about jets going in back and forth for rapid multiple strikes in concert with shell exchanges from tanks that commands a different kind of awe compared to a single strike then waiting for quiet a long while.
Adding the YAK-141 and the Hind as controllable air units would complete the USSR pieces. I hope you push through with the YAK-141 and Hind, Henford. :)

Hind will definitely be included in v0.2 (I have already started modelling it!). Yak 141, I will further investigate.

IMHO Hind can be Antiinfantry/AntiAir/Antilightvechicle unit. Against infantry and light vechicles it will use it`s autocannon and vs Air units can use Igla-V missiles(upgrade for Hind in War Lab).

YAK-141 and Hind? Oh hell yeeaahhhhhh. XD Put those 2 Henford and we've got a game!

Mar 2 2012 Anchor

why not add both the MI-24 and the YAK-141 or the YAK-143

Hopefully he will and in doing so improve variety and make it feel a complete warfare save for the navy. :)

Hind is already guaranteed to be in the next version as Henford stated. I just hope the YAK-141 will be included as well. I have played a lot of games that is in a modern or in the future settings which could feature it and I've never seen a game show that aircraft yet. I haven't unlocked all planes in Ace combat 7 so I dunno if the YAK-141 is there. It would be nice to see it in a game for once.
