Cinematic Mod Awakening aims at further delving into the expanded gameverse of FakeFactory's Cinematic Mod which added a lot of depth to the award-winning blockbuster of HL2. CMA uses CM2013 platform with additional work being done by third-party/community members. All work is done with the original author permission from FakeFactory.

Disclaimer: This is a standalone mod, which means it doesn't require a core game to run it. In short - download, unpack and play.

OK, it's a standalone. DL parts 1-4 and extract to the same file location. But beyond that your instructions are unclear, to say the least.

What file location? Steamapps Sourcemods? Or some other place? Please identify the file address to which these should be extracted so that the game will show up on my Steam games list. Or maybe once executed there is a desktop icon?

1.25 patch. Do I need this to make the mod work? Extracted to the same file address as the others, I guess?

Looks interesting, but if you want people to DL and play your mod, there questions need to be answered before I am going to commit the time and drive space for this apparently huge mod.

Unfortunately, I don't know English well enough to answer your questions. I speak German, Polish and Russian. You need an Launcher.exe \Launcher_hl2.exe \ Launcher_ep1.exe \ Launcher_ep2.exe file to run the modification. The mod is standalone and does not require steam (!) or any other game. Launcher this mod - source gamepirate platform \ base. And... CMAO and CM2013 - different modifications, You can not mix these files.

Compose a detailed how-to for getting this installed and running, and find someone with good English skills to translate, and post that back here.
I know a few things about getting mods installed and running, but yours is unique and beyond my ability. I'm sure there are many others who have looked at this but walked away because installing it is so different from what they usually see.

It makes no sense that you would spend so much time developing this, and not devote a couple of hours to post simple, clear instructions so people can use it.

The video sounds like a good idea, I will look at it tomorrow and see how it goes. Thanks.

I know this stuff seems simple and logical once you've done it a few times, but your descriptions of what should be done are assuming the reader knows a lot more about mod files than I do, at least.

OK, here's what I gather from the vid.
Download all 4 files, and unzip all to a common file destination. I can't read the Cyrillic folder and file names, or the zip folder option titles, but since it is standalone, it seems like it should not matter where I put it. Maybe my Games folder?
To run it, run the launcher_hl2.exe; minimize the game to the tray, and run either launcher_ep2.exe or launcher_ep1.exe.

Does that sound right?

1. Yes. Folder does not matter.
2. launcher_hl2.exe - HL2, launcher_ep1.exe - episode 1, launcher_ep2.exe - episode 2.

P.s. "minimize the game to the tray" - sorry, I do not understand.
P.s.s. In the video there is an instruction. Folder does not matter. I do not understand what you do not understand.

OK, so you can play HL2, EP1, or EP2 using the appropriate launcher. I think I got it. As soon as I have some time to DL the files, I will install and play. Thanks for taking the time to help me, because others who want to try this will be helped also.

Perhaps I will spend several hours recording the installation and the first launch of the game on video.

Unfortunately, I thought that people are smart enough not to get confused.

Watching the vid carefully, I have seen what I was missing: the files have to be extracted through 7-Zip TWICE. Among all the several hundred HL mods I have installed over the years, I do not recall ever having to do this before.
The initial 7-Zip extraction process yields 4 files of type .7z.00#. In 7-Zip File Manager, select all 4 of these files and extract again to the file location of your choice. This produces a single folder, CMA - Origins full, containing all the fully unpacked files.
Open the folder and find the .exe launcher for the game you want to play, and get started.

Schwarz: I know with your experience and knowledge of computers, files, and programs that this seems easy, obvious, and intuitive, but trust me, for those of us less experienced in handling large compressed files every day, it is not. As I said above, the process for getting your mod installed was unique. My difficulty figuring this out does not make me stupid, any more than your difficulty with English makes you stupid. So you should really stop tossing that word around so carelessly.
