I will be starting this mod on my own, but as I go along, I hope to gain one or two teammates at the least to help me develop, and expand this mod project.

To fill in a bit of history and concept of this project:
The Cliche Multiverse is a concept I've come up with for collisions of universes themselves, in this case it would be the collision between Cliche, an alternate world set over the span between 2012 and 2150 (and on) and SoaSE.
In Cliche, there's humans, and a race of humanoid, reptilian-mammal hybrids called the Drasp, mainly on initial reports of "Dragon Asp hybrids previously undiscovered"... The Humans have advanced in genetic tech, so much that people with the money can become anthromorphs of an animal of their choice, or a hybrid of such.
There are two major factions on the Earth of Cliche, the Dark Matter Organization (DMO), and the Anthro Preservation Army (APA), the APA having been founded first by an anthro grizzly bear general named Samson... his term of "preservation" being the extermination of humans. The DMO was formed by a Drasp named AaeRohn Causten, the organization's main directive to defend the innocent and to defend the humans from the APA.
All tech in the DMO, is developed by AaeRohn's research labs, having being the first of the two major factions to achieve space travel on it's own. The flagship battlecruiser Catellina being the DMO's flagship from day one, and AaeRohn's ship of choice.
One of the cornerstones and backbones of the DMO is the AI technology, massive AI cores being installed on every capital-class ship of the Dark Matter Star Fleet (DMSF), and some scarce frigates such as carrier class cruisers.
The APSF (Anthro Preservation Star Fleet) followed the DMSF, and not long thereafter, America, Russia, Japan, China, all under their own flags to colonize and expand.
While the rest of Earth expanded to the stars, developing their own cultures, becoming their own races, the DMSF and APSF fought on the behalf of both the DMO and APA, progressing rapidly along the technological fields in their unending war.
Every time I think I'm close to making a new alpha, I find more crap I missed.
OK, so I was wrong before about making it to another release, but this time I can definitely say I will soon be working on the first beta!
It won't be fancy, it won't be perfect, and it most certainly won't include any models, textures, pictures, or even audio of the DMO, they will be using models from both TEC and Advent (so far only one capital ship model and starbase model from the advent, for the Javelin class capital ship and orbital colony starbase)
Right now the wall I'm trying to climb over is that I can't figure out how to make the DMO a fourth selectable race, and I feel like it's something really really simple that I'll facedesk for not noticing it before. go ahead and comment if you know what I have to put and where (file, line, example), thank you in advance.
Once I got it as it's own selectable race, all I need left is to finish laying out and double checking each tree of the DMO's research, as well as their ties with all DMO abilities, ships, structures, etc etc etc, research seems to be the most tedious. THEN I'll have the beta :D
Now then, OFF TO MOD! *pulls up the coding in a totally undramatic way*
I'm gonna be working on this a bit more starting tonight, I said I'm not going to let this die, and I wont, because this is a game I love to play.
I know I haven't made any updates for the past while... why? I need feedback so I know how to "mold" the next part of the mod.

A little word of warning: shielding grants an always-active damage reduction, over 60% when focus-fired upon by a fleet and 15% when under light fire, so ships without shields need a ton of armor and HP in order to have equivalent survivability when under heavy fire.
Also, since the DMO appears to have a lot of special buffs, you're going to have to write a lot of abilities, and you may run into the 5-ability-per-ship limit a few times.

aye, I've known that, the polar plating is the main buff for all ships and structures, still working on concepting the physical aspect of the plating's defense.
Once I have a base for the mod (one of Zombie's add-a-race packages for example) for Diplomacy 1.34, i can churn it out in under a day if I focus on it... nobody's hiring me these days, so still have no job and not much else to do :i
Just give them 1 shield point, or check out the Borg in SOA 2.
hmm... maybe, but leaving the shields out of the equation would still put the combat superiority of dual star bases (and swarms of strike squadrons) back in check with the hindrance of lacking longevity
