Hello there. The new update for DOOM BFA brings even more fixes and additions to the game and a new way to mod the Classic DOOM games.
ADDITIONS
First is the addition of the ability to inject Classic DOOM Code pointers using the SDK, also now you can set the desired expansion menu on DOOM 2 by using the cvar cl_expMenu. And finally you can set rich presense preffix for your Classic DOOM mod by using the EXPINFO.
FIXES
The next/previous weapon texts on DOOM 3 are now accurate, SDK will also be dependent from some additional libraries (OpenAL) , and also now DOOM 3's ADPCM audio will be handled by the OpenAL-soft instead of the built in algorithm.
MISC
The Open Platform has also been updated and now includes Discord Implementation, which can be used by BFA for rich presense.
Here is and video tutorial for the code pointer injection:
I am trying to install this mod but I am stuck on the install screen. It just says Welcome to Doom BFA installer and does nothing. I have the Doom 3 BFA edition from GOG.
I found the mod from this link.
Pcgamingwiki.com
There should be in the bottom left of the opened window two buttons, next and cancel.
Nah noting is at the right or left of the bottom just gray space.
That's odd. In what OS you try to run it and with what resolution (maybe on linux might have some ui issues)
I found an unusual achievement related bug. When I completed E2M9 of Doom 1, I unlocked the achievement for completing Episode 3 erroneously. No big deal of course, just something to note.
Noted. Thanks for the feedback.
PS: Just checked a little bit the source code, have you deleted the profile.bin after you update? The profile.bin is keeping the state of the game achievements and if you haven't deleted it from previous versions it might have get wrongfully achievement bit from data that has been removed from the profile.bin
In fact I did before I started my achievement run of the classics to resolve an unrelated issue, so I can say this was a fresh run. Oh, I just unlocked the achievements for both Episode 4 and the "complete Doom 1 on Ultraviolence or higher", and those both unlocked appropriately. IT's a strange one that's for sure. I ended up doing a full run of Episode 3 anyway just for my own satisfaction.
For all I know it may be a glitch in the original game but again accidentally getting an achievement from completing the wrong level isn't that big a deal in the grand scheme of things. These days I'm more interested in a mod to restore the lost "green forest" hell level in ROE. I imagine that would take the form of ripping the level data from the old game install and converting it over like with the ROE arcade games.
Help please, how disable ugly red screen when take a damage? Vanilla Doom 3 without this. thanks. this is best mod for making BFG edition better!
