The first one is about the Last Alliance. Taking place in the latest years of the Second Age, after the submersion of Numenor, it'll allw you to play as some legendary characters of the LotR universe : Gil-Galad, the last High-King of the Noldor, Elendil and his sons Isildur and Anarion in the Kingdoms of the Dunedain, Durin IV in Khazad-Dum, or Oropher and Amdir in the forests of Eryn Galen and Lothlorien. And of course, the main vilain of this starting date is no one but Sauron the Great. Even if it's mostly a sandbox mod, with no major events for now, it'll be a great fun to play as these characters.
As you can see, the realms are quite different from what you know in Third Age. The Dunedain have landed some territories, but Arnor and Gondor are not all conquered. In Gondor, the Eredrim, peoples of the mountains, are strong again, and in Andrast, some fisher-folks lives their lives. In Arnor, the Rhudaur is in the hands of the hillmen, as well as northern arthedain.
The Kingdoms of the Dunedain are unificate under the rule of Elendil the Tall, but you can choose, when playing with him, to split the kingdom to your sons at your death. Then, Arnor and Gondor, along with the lines of Anarion and Isildur, will be created!
This mechanic will exist for each ruler of the great Reunited Kingdom/Kingdoms of the Dunedain. So even after Elessar, you'll be able to have some splits of the kingdoms!
The other new starting date will take place several centuries later, at the beginning of Fourth Age. After the defeat of Sauron, the Dunedain conquered back most of their former kingdoms, under the rule of Elessar Telcontar, the king's name of Aragorn. This kingdom is a big blob, but you'll have to manage to keep it unite. With the Dwarves, try to unificate all the mountains, or as Elladan, the son f Elrond, try to restor the glory of the elves during the Age of Men. Another interesting realms to play will be eastern/southern lands. You should try to resist the power of the Reunited Kingdom, and try to be enough powerful to become a threat for it.
This time, the main threat won't be an Evil Lord or Semi-God, but the Men themselves.
These two bookmarks are without major events for now, and we'll give you two "sandbox" maps, where you can do what you want without the limits of Historical events.
About gameplay, we'll change some things, so the game will be easier to play, we hope so at least
More informations will be given by us during the next days, about what we did on gameplay for exemple. Keep in touch!
Thanks for your supports, suggestions. The screenshots don't show the finale look of the map, as some little changes will happen again.
I LOVE YOU!!!
all images are invalid
Hmpf. I'll fix that tomorrow. Thanks )
good job!!
i really really love everythings which touches the world of the Middle Earth but sadly, I don't appreciate the game CK2 itself. I tried and the game was too weird for me. But anyway, i took a look on your mod and it was really good made. Tanks a lot and keep working :)
I was wondering, perhaps i missed a post about it but colonisation does not work for me. Do i need to disable a DLC or has this feature been removed.
Love the mod and do keep up the good work!
