Hello Star Wars fans and Chronicles supporters! This is an official communicate from Spawn Hazard, former creator and leader of this project. First of all, I'd like to thank, in the name of all the team and the people involved in the project, for the great support that this community gave us in the last years of our activity.
We were working together since August 17th 2007, it's being 4 years already! That's a long time and much has happened since then. Members came and went, Some still are here, even I quit the project around 2009. Since then, the project continued and a lot was accomplished, thanks to the efforts of larraz and others that did a lot to keep you guys informed and entertained. A lot in our personal lifes happened, and some of you are still with us in this journey, so I thank you all.
The prime reason of this communicate is to adress the fact that you guys already know for sometime. We decided to change the engine from Quake III to a more powerful and modern one, Unreal Engine 3 by Epic Games. I've returned to the project and we decided to start over, this time with a new commitment, a more experienced team, but with the same goal and will to make this project true.
The name will change, so will the team and the website. Some older members remain with us and we will start the recruting process again in a few days. We won't show the project yet, because there's a lot to do first and we want to have something really cool and polished for you guys to see.
When it's the time, I'll be posting here the link for the new community forum and how you can apply to the project. Don't bother PM us for now, be patient. A new Moddb page will be made as well. This is the end for the Chronicles Team, but the birth of a new more capable and stronger project!
I hope you guys be with us again in this new journey!
May the Force be with all of you,
The Chronicles Team, singing a happy farewell and a see you soon.

Little suggestion would be to not worry about changing engines. No offence meant but you have taken 4 years to get to this point and you are how much done? Also you have 2 people working on the mod. It does not make sense unless you plan to never finish this mod. It is a shame as it looks a really awesome mod. You are also forgetting that JA is an old game and getting older. Soon you will have another JK type game out, or some other new game. Will you keep working on the mod if you are swapping over to another engine or just like many other people do and give up. Should remember the kiss rule. (keep it simple stupid). Maybe when completed. Worry about changing over the enginge etc. It just seems a stall tactic from this mod sadly dying! 4 years and still what % mark are you up to?
few weeks ago i was agree with you but i realize that using tihs Q3engine we are too limited of doing some things (RPG missions, space battles, minigames, QTE´s,...) and takes too long to make other things like maps, annims, scripts (takes time to move a character perfectly or placea cam) counting with the engine gives a lot of bugs and errors. With UDK a lot of that things will be eliminate and other things will take half time to make them up, i know that we have to remake a lot of things but there are other things (like anims that we will be created using Kinect) that will benefit us and the quality of the mod too. I think that its a good change, maybe im wrong i dont know, anyway thanks about your opinion
I haven't made a mod so I don't want to sound too critical. What you guys do is up to you. I was looking at a more realistic point. From what I have seen it looks an amazing mod. IT has taken I am sure much hard work and may hours. TO change the engine over does that mean a total start from scratch? Or can some of the models, maps etc be converted over to the Unreal Engine? If so then the time I am sure would not be as long and in the long run could save time. If you have to start basically from scratch. That means you have spent 4 years not for much progress. A mod usually takes what 2-3 years to make a quality mod. That means this mod realistically would not be released until what 2013-2014? This ofcourse depends on amount of modders, hours etc. I would of thought It would of been best to finish what you have done so far. MAybe then work on a similiar project/ another modd with the new engine. Anyways up to you guys. Either way I wish you guys well :-).
