This is an enhanced audio implementation for GoldSRC engine.
The main focus is an unchanged game hehavior with better sound quality.
This is a standalone version, but this may work with Chicken Fortress 3 if you know how to install this like other metahook plugins.
This plugin will be included in the next CKF3 update.
With this plugin you need some higher-quality sound files to hear difference,
You can try "speak explode1.wav" in the console, this wave file is 44100kHz / mono / 16bits, which is extracted from Team Fortress 2.
try "al_enable 0/1" to enable/disable this plugin and see what's different.
*Meta Audio's code has been improved to:
Support stereo(2 channels) wave file is now allowed to be used in game. (Only mono in original HL).
Support higher sample rate. (Only 22050kHz in original HL).
Support mono, stereo, 4-channel, 5.1, 6.1, 7.1, and HRTF output. (depends on your device)
Support hot-activate/deactivate, which means you can activate/deactivate this plugin at any time without restarting game.(console cvar al_enable 0/1)

You hear nothing different when you are in water.

Installing:
1.Put "metahook.exe" and soft_oal.dll in "\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\" or "\No-Steam Half-Life\"
2.Put all files in "cstrike\" into "\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\cstrike\" or "\No-Steam Half-Life\mod folder\", if you want this plugin to be installed in mod other than Counter-Strike.
3.Create a shortcut for metahook.exe, right click the shortcut -> click Properties, add them to the "Target":
"-steam -game valve" or "-steam -game cstrike" or "-steam -game blablabla"

4.If you are have installed this plugin into Steam Half-Life,
1.Please DO NOT run Half-Life or any other game from Steam game libray.
2.Make sure your Steam is running.
5.Run metahook.exe's Shortcut to play.
is this considered a cheat on multiplayer? does it make the sound on metal rooms be less ear killer?
I don't know is it legal on mutiplayer even this plugin did't change any game behavior, but as I know the VAC system is a joke which has always been doing nothing to any cheaters,

Take it easy, there are some people modified their Counter-Strike to CSBTE(https://www.moddb.com/mods/csbte) and even played multiplayer without banned by VAC.
