C&C: ShockWave is an enhancement mod for C&C Generals: Zero Hour. The main goal of this mod is to make Zero Hour a more interesting game with more diversity between the generals, making you think twice before you select a certain general, and overall provide more choices, diversity, and strategic freedom than in Zero Hour - while keeping the spirit and design direction of the original Generals game and storyline.

Cool but looks alot like the microwave beam ( if fired on a low delay between shoots ). The old railgun effect was cooler imo.

. . . a Railgun is a Solid Slug Moving at incredibly fast speed (Beyond the sound barrier) not a laser/plasma cannon.

Why is the railgun projectile leaving a trail of weird lights behind it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

a normal general screams "fire the rapidly accelerated metal slug a.k.a railgun!!!"

we scream "fire the multicolor twisty beams!!!"

Lol, I agree that this effect is not as good as the orig. It is true that in RL there would prob be a heat stream because of the air molecules being super heated as the round passes through it causing the air to literally explode behind it but this is like something you'd see at a Pink Floyd laser lght show while tripping off of LSD.

Yeah. its like: "Fire those telletubish guns!"

Heres a moral functional question:

Is it going to be a single fire weapon or damage per sec like the laser paladin?!

Ohh please do not put that mirco particle behind it, sorry but IMO it really sucks. All the models are great though;)
And when you release, (Yea I know it's a pretty stupid question) Will your mod contain graphic modifications that will allow for 1920X1080 gameplay?
I've run on that for almost 2 years now and I still love generals. To bad they only have a damn 1600X1200 resolution.

if you want 1920 by 1080 resolution, modify your options.ini in notepad; it's not that hard

Since the railgun no longer fires a projectile and is now a laser based weapon it's not a railgun anymore but Laser Artillery or a Heavy-Laser Tank. How about changing the name accordingly? Maybe the MHLAS Mobile Heavy Laser Artillery System.

Actually, a laser cannot be classified as artillery by definition. Still it cannot be called a railgun by definition so the only choice is to name it some sort of laser weapon or focused light beam

Well, this is a railgun in science fiction, according to the very same source of information that everybody uses to describe the real life concept of railgun. But this is obviously not the case here. This is a fictionalised railgun, maybe based on that from the Quake series, which fired a beam instead of metal slugs. That explains why it looks more like a laser. It's not surprising to find out that something in science fiction is different from the same concepts in real life. Like the "Laser" weapons in most Sci-Fi films and games (laser cannons, laser blasters, etc.). They also don't fit in the definition for laser, because they fire energy bursts instead of beams.

I liked the changes in attributes of units, but I think the new Paladin, and the new Railgun were ugly, I prefer the older models.
the effect of firing the railgun was strange, and the description says "do not use solid projectile," what kind of railgun is this?

It turned out that railguns in Quake did use solid slugs after all, I managed to check it, but perhaps they have some kind of other fictional firing mechanism which eventually produces the laser-like colours and effects. So, if those were inspired from Quake, this might prove why there are these "weird lights".

After Re-examining the "Railgun Artillery" Effect it looks like a Modified Microwave Tank or ECM Effect.

Still a Railgun should not give a First Impression as a Laser weapon.

Take a hint from normal guns:

When you fire a sniper rifle, if you look closely down range through the scope you can see the heat distortion from the bullet.

NOT A PURPLE TORNADO OF FUNK
