And so begins 50,000 years of history..

.

Caveman2Cosmos is a CivFanatics.com community mod that add new features, gameplay, and content to the Civilization 4 experience. It is the most expansive Civilization 4: BTS mod to date with almost daily updates since November 2010. It is the spiritual successor the The Civilization 4 mod Rise of Mankind and its addon A New Dawn, and combines the work of over 100+ CivFanatics.com past and present modders to create a mod to "rule them all". It is currently being developed by StrategyOnly Productions with a modding team made up of prominent members of CivFanatics.com.

Caveman2Cosmos introduces a massive amount of new content with massive customization to Civilization 4 : Beyond the Sword. From the the discovery of controlled fire in the Prehistoric Era to the spaceships of the Galactic Era this community mod is perfect for the player who craves very deep strategy but is still enjoyable to the more casual player. Be warned, with this much content this mod may take almost 100 hours or more to win a single game. This mod is evolving on a weekly basis and new features are added all the time!

Caveman 2 Cosmos.

News 2 comments

Good news, the new "Graphics paging" option saves about 30% of RAM memory usage (with bigger maps, more RAM saving), and it should remove virtually all MAF errors. It replaces the Viewports system. This system can be activated in BUG Options screen. It should be auto-activated by default. See Version 33 Changelog under the Features Tab above for more details.

i have the question. Because i researched all internet and i don't find answer. Does this mod add somethings special features? such as being able to add dogmas to religion? is it a mod that only adds more tech, recipes, religion, new eras and the like?I'm playing the Rise of Mankind mod and I'm wondering if this mod will have any more differences.

It has myths, stories and other animal related buildings so you can hunt in early game and get cool stuff
There are combat mods options to enhance combat experience
Properties are here like education or crime
There are scenarios with space
There are 5 Future eras

Units keep disappearing after leaving the city, and they can't be clicked onto unless I save, and reopen the game, but only for that first turn. I turned off graphics paging. Any suggestions?

There's a rather significant level of bugs in the present v41.2 version:
1. When building national wonders, AI will lock up 1 turn from completion. This not only locks the production queue for that city, but also locks out growth (perhaps out locking any kind of resource usage/production entirely). It happens very reliably in most games, while in others it happens erratically, but it has happened in every game I've played (across about two dozen attempts). Adding the buildings via the world editor works.. until they attempt to create their next national wonder.
2. The AI is.. well, broken. Across all the games I've attempted the AI has never initiated aggression once. I've even intentionally emptied my cities of all but a single defender. Meanwhile, the AI seems OBSESSED with building stacks- they'll go over 300 units per stack easily (which, really- even if you want to emphasize stacks, you should really set a reasonable cap SOMEWHERE). So all they do is build up ungodly armies- which they never seem to suffer any expense for- while never initiating aggression, even with sure-fire victories in their grasp. Which just makes games incredibly tedious offensive grinds.
3. The games lag far too much for play- and the severity of such is incredibly erratic relative to map size. I've had the smallest map size go up to 5 minute turn delays by round 20 and 15 minute delays by round 120 (and, for whatever reason, in one instance saving at twice the storage space of any other save file), and I've had the largest map size get to 5 minute delays by turn 230. But, whatever the circumstance, eventually the turn delays just get too unreasonable for continued play.

There's a lot of imbalances, a lot of missing information, and various other issues that could use polish.. but those are the kind of things that just slightly drop a rating on such an ambitious, inherently appealing project. The aforementioned issues, however, make it so the project just.. doesn't seem to have a purpose, other than as a conceptual draft. Hopefully some work can be done on those elements soon.. or if there's a working earlier version, maybe someone can direct me to it?

Never install mod in My Documents

Place in in Mods folder, where BTS exe is located

It must be named Caveman2Cosmos, and run game as admin.

Its on by default.
To see it on scoreboard:
1. Go to BUG settings (green bug on top left)
2. Click on Scoreboard tab.
3. Click on Display Name list, and pick one with Civ Description or Leader/Civ Description - those will display Dynamic civ names in scoreboard.
