Hey everyone! I wanted to write a post to introduce Enchanted, discuss things revolving the mod, my plans, and what it brings to the table for Carnivores mods. I'll try my best to talk about these things through a QNA format.
Enchanted introduces itself as a private hunting tour made by DinoHunt Corp, in collaboration with a new company titled, "STALKER CORP" which have been known for making weapons for DinoHunt throughout all the years. However, as the new hunter enlisted for the new tour, we're to not hunt, but to investigate the company by looking throughout the areas of Nubiva, in order to put the pieces together for their ultimate "creation" to override DinoHunt.
Enchanted, while introduces a slightly complex lore and story, will tell it through the maps, creatures, and sources in the mod to tell the story.
I feel this is important to mention before we continue, to explain how releasing the demo, mod, and any potential DLC might work.
What is currently in progress is the demo, which will consist of approximately one fourth of the content. After that release, immediate work will be placed on the full version, which will take time of course, as it has a lot of content planned, but will then follow with a DLC that might expand the story a bit with various changes and additions.
While it's hard to say how many will be in the full version, I think I can estimate that about 40 - 50 creatures will be present in the demo. This is because of the huntables, ambients, map specific creatures, along with rare creatures to find throughout your hunts.
The demo currently uses 1.0.2, as the most updated version (currently 1.0.3) doesn't align with our current plans for what we want, more specifically with trophies. However, the full version will use the most up to date version of the engine whenever it releases.
As of right now, I guess you can say we're using the whole engine to our advantage for the mod, especially since I do want it to retain replayability for the sake of finding new creatures, varients, and just to explore for the sake of it.
Yes and no. I know that the current roster set for the demo is very much going to be much different for the full version, as well as the future plans for this mod, so there will definitely be more custom made models in place or even replacing the old dinos. However, there are some creatures that I feel that were either perfectly made for their role in the mod or were given permission for me to use by friends by mines, as I consider them as their tributes for Enchanted, so those may be staying.
I think that might be a bit confusing to read so if you'd like a TLDR, I'd say that the full version of the mod will have 70% custom made models, with the 30% being reskins (plus there are some models I've seen that I love that I want for them to have a place somewhere, whether in Enchanted or any other project.)
At the moment, a lot of the assets used are reskins, with a few being creatures I'm rigging and animating. However, with me and my friends working on the mod, some of these creatures may get their own model.
Things have honestly been looking up as of recent, with school ending and progress with not only the mod but my own skills as well. Why I do want to keep a good amount of it secret, since we still have a bit long way to go, expect some updates soon regarding the process.
I will say that at the mod doesn't have a definite release date, as I'm still doing things and undergoing tons of polishing to make the demo presentable and fun for everyone, so yes, it may take a hot while before hearing anything revolving around a demo release, but just note progress is being made.

No it's not, this is its own thing. It only uses some of New World's stylistic choices

That is to replace the original image with another image. =)
