This is the second Amnesia mod in the Collapsing Cosmos series.
This journey in the Lovecraftian universe will take you to the bottom of the ocean, in the second half of the twentieth century. You will roam in the mysterious corridors of the Vault, which echoes with songs and rythms from another world. You will walk on the black rock that has been lying under the oceans for thousands of years. You will witness the horrors that science has revealed to mankind, and you will run from its most awful manifestations.
And as old as the oceans are, something more ancient is calling to you, in the absolute silence of the depths.
This full conversion for Amnesia : The Dark Descent can be fully appreciated without having to play The Silver Key, the stories are unrelated although both happen in the same Lovecraftian universe.
I have different goals for this project.
First of all, the environments you will explore have to be unique, and very detailed. You can expect work of a higher quality than in The Silver Key, in a modern universe.
The gameplay time will be much longer, and the action and puzzles will be better paced. I have learnt from my mistakes and I will try to make the game as fun and challenging as possible, without making it frustrating.
This experience should be scarier than The Silver Key. This doesn't mean that I won't focus as much on letting you explore the environments, but it does mean that the atmosphere should be more frightening.
The mod will be also a lot more polished than the previous one was, which means that I will have a longer testing period, I will hire voice actors and be overall more careful about not confusing the player.
It will feature absolutely new gameplay elements. I have plenty of ideas, some are definitive (diving suit) and some are just potential ideas, such as crafting health kits with different components. There will plenty of new stuff !
I will keep you guys updated in the News section about how the mod is progressing.
I also want to thank everyone for the wonderful support I received with The Silver Key, it is the reason I have the energy to start working on such a big project. Thank you so much, it means a whole lot to me : ) !

Call of the Abyss had the time to mature quite a lot this year while I was busy with completing the first year of my post high school cursus, and I now have four months ahead of me with little to do except working on this project.
That's about it, I am now resuming full-speed development, there will be a little time before I start mapping but I will try to upload some concepts into ModDB so you guys know that I'm working hard on the project, since it might not always be easy to realize without screenshots.
As always, thanks for every form of support towards my projects, it always brightens my day.
