BSmodHQ update v.2.0 for BSP was a resounding success being downloaded a couple thousand times and being featured on avault and Gamershell. The feedback was great and the patch brought BSP to life. Now it is time for the next bold step... version 3.0. It will be bigger, badder and more epic than ever. We might as well call it a new game.

Post news Report RSS BSmodHQ: Last Stand Pack under development

BSmodHQ Update v.3.0 for BSP was the end of the successful line of updates for BSP but it also marked a new line of DLC starting with the Advanced Warfare Pack (AWP). Now, the next DLC in line, titled Last Stand Pack, is under development.

Posted by on

The main goals of this DLC would be to make the new maps as well as the AWP maps available to play vs the AI as well as importing the full Carrier Battles and Volcano map packs and the last units from the Mustang unit pack. Some of the AWP maps have been reworked for balance and game play, even more new units and maps will be seen along with some new textures, music and sound effects. Machine gun and autocannon damage has also been reworked.

Watch this space for more information as development continues.

I just wanted to say that this is awesome. It's great to see some activity for this game - particularly considering its relative obscurity. It's particularly nice to hear about importing of Carrier Battles / Volcano / Mustang content considering it is no longer possible to acquire these.

Looking forward to more news!

Edit: Also, for anyone interested, it's worth noting that there's slightly more information on this here: Forums.eidosgames.com

I'm definitely looking forward to this! This game is still enjoyable and with these modification and additional contents it will be even better. Until the release of World of Warships these two games (Midway and Pacific) are going to rule the seas, no doubt. Thanks guys for the work on these modifications!

Release is still TBD. This mod will take many times more effort and time than our previous mod se we expect it to go into testing next year.

Last Stand Pack is no longer under active development, however it "sort of lives on" in BSmodHQ Update v.4.0 for BSP where all official DLC will be included and the original Advanced Warfare Pack maps completely remade. There will be a new mappack in the future, but at the moment BSmodHQ Update v.4.0 for BSP and the Bismarck Mission Pack take priority.

Will you keep the repair body feature?

Yes, removing it was badly received so it is coming back. Engine and fire repairs will still take longer to repair though.
In some of the new scenario-oriented maps repairs will be desabled for certain critical units, but for a specific purpose.
An example is Battle of the Java Sea (that is becoming an Escort map). The Japanese must sink 5 crusiers, but tons of escorts stand in their way. They will only be able to land hits every now and then and in the meantime the cruisers heal themselves - essentially making it impossible for the Japanese to win. For this reason the cruisers will not regenerate health in this mission.
