A mod for Doom II inspired by Brutal Doom, but this time "brutalizing" Wolfenstein 3D by adding new weapons, enemies, textures, animations, and of course, gore. Lots of it. That's not all though -- the maps from the original game are being redesigned too. Note: I'm not the mod's developer. Credit goes to Zio McCall for the concept, development, as well as the various contributors. I just felt that this mod needed a place here.

ZioMcCall did a great job changing up the levels a bit, more weapons, and more interesting gameplay. 1st floor boss is now quite a challenge as well:)

I am not exactly the biggest fan of Brutal Doom as I prefer mostly unmodified Doom, but I have to give credit where credit is due, Brutal Wolfenstein 3D is awesome fun to play. While Wolfenstein 3D's levels are a bit of sore to play, Brutal Wolfenstein's gameplay helps making those samey boring levels more dynamic and fun with the gameplay, and some of the map touches are nice, but even better on V5.0 from what I've seen on the demo! Brutal Wolfenstein makes the original game feel fresh and new, much like Brutal Doom, and seeing how the original game is, Brutal Wolfenstein feels like a modern remake for Wolfenstein 3D, a bloody one at that. Great mod and good time, might be good to recommend to those who never played Wolfenstein 3D, after all this mod is free!

I think the "Brutal" treatment for vanilla Doom has had the same effect as it had on vanilla Wolf 3D - that is, made game play even smoother, more gruesome, and more fun.

The only reason I refrain from giving a perfect 10 is that one of the heavier guns has too much recoil.
