Its good, it gives a simple brutal doom flavor and still has that charm.
There is a problem with the barons and knights they just take a couple or three shotgun blasts from a regular shotgun to kill. It seems their health pools are too small for something that is supposed to be a enemy that can take a ton of damage.
Either than that everything is good here.
This is the very best Brutal-Doom version, and it's very comfortable and unfrustrating to play (and I always play on "Black Metal" difficulty, I am no lazy one).
I am so glad I can still find it and download it.
Pros:
-No reload (the way Doom was supposed to be)
-Nice-looking rocket-launcher and plasma-rifle
-Great kick sprites (I dislike the ridiculous and cartoonish ones introduced with V20, featuring rubber farm boots, and silly trousers with a silly and childish green color)
-No steeping back while firing the super-shotgun or the rocket-launcher
-No chaingun tremor
-Zoomed crosshair of the rifle is practical and nice-looking (it was shrouding the visibility and bothering in v18)
Cons: I don't like its punching moves, I'd rather have had those of V20, or at least of V18.

The wording on this is confusing, is it Version 19? Or a mod of version 19?
EDIT: On further examination, this is in fact a MOD of Version 19, and not actually version 19.
There is just one sad problem : It kicks you off the game when you use a shotgun soldier as a shield. Saying something about line 486 and 1029
