I was always wondering, why UAC and the Space Marine Corps have abandoned the concept of the ballistic sniper/marksman rifles. Sure, we have the railgun, but it seems to be some kind of an experimental, or at least not too widespread option to kill enemy forces from major distances. I am also sure that the production of the railgun is not something of a cost-effective and simple task, so keeping around some kind of a precision rifle with a scope should be a wise idea to arm the bulk of the designated marksman marines.
This gun fires the same rounds as the basic assault rifle, so the ammo shouldn't be an issue. This is a semi-auto rifle with a scope and a 10-round magazine. It's highly accurate while aiming trough the scope, bit you're not gonna hit anything if you are firing from the hip.
I would rather like to make a bolt-action variant instead for a more balanced experience, but I haven't got any suitable sprites and my green-colored (modernized) Lee-Enfield with a scope looks silly in my honest opinion. So maybe later...
The package also conatains a spawner .wad that spawns the rifle with a certain possibility instead of the minigun/machinegun/SMG. You can also add/spawn it by the "give/summon marksmanrifle" console command.
We already have a sniper rifle for Brutal Doom (Moddb.com), but it hasn't been updated for ages so I took the effort and created this one. (Almost) all credit goes to ⋆Ƅarge™ for the sprites.
