This is BrutalDoomIsAwesome's PSX Brutal Doom, made PB Compatible! This mod comes with the flashlight from SlyDoyle on ZDoom forums, an edited version of that by me for LQ users, and now featuring the Dark Doom flashlight featured in UDV for users who like the light but prefer a different HUD style, which also includes an LQ version! Also with the new sounds of the one and only Aubury and even some from Labryx! Finally some Brightmaps so it looks nice! (READ DESC FOR MORE INFO ON FLASHLIGHT DIFFERENCES {both v 13 changelog and v17 mainly} AND EVERYTHING) Other surprises are in here too ;) This is all prepped and ready for you to dive into! Requires the latest GZDoom/ZDoom build (OR gzdoom 1.8.10 if you can only run GL 2.0), load after PB and before any other mod you have with it! **ONLY run with Doom 2 WAD** Enjoy!

v17: BIG update, now featuring Nightmare imps, flashlight options, PSX brightmaps, and even Labryx's PSX Archvile sounds and Aubury's new PSX Archvile sounds!! Still no option to toggle whether the flashlights trigger monsters yet but i will try to implement it sometime. FINALLY fixed the shotgun guy's unpassable dead corpse bug!! (I damn near hope) Any extra addon in the given folder just load after PSX, as for flashlights and UDV, you should just be able to use the beamflashlight addon after the HUD and it should replace the implemented one, im not sure yet. Along with the "NOMONSTERALERT" tag being removed or not if using it and what not. As of both flashlight options dont trigger monsters like UDV's. (Help is always appreciated ^^) Fixed a map bug where you couldn't get to the level exit and have to use noclip to get to it or use the "Zand" exit. Tell me if there should be a toggle-able monster trigger flashlight option! Thank you for your patients!!

v14: Fix up release for Project Brutality 2.02!
v13: The big release of Project Brutality 2.01 is finally here! Now PSX PB has been tweaked to be better than before! This version includes the original nightmare spectre sprites, map fix ups, better options, and more! The Flashlight now has options to use either SlyDoyles or UDVs light! (IF YOU DOWNLOAD UDV) choose which one you want to use in the controls! Each flashlight is different! This one doesn't trigger enemies either and has a white/yellowish hue instead of a light blue, along with a somewhat (if not almost not too much more) farther beam distance/brighter a bit, however it doesn't cover as much of an overall area volume at close distance like UDV's, it has a better straight light point (doom 3 or normal flashlight), UDV's however has togglable options and is like a search light. The UDV light has almost the same distance as SlyDoyles (18,19 so only one off really but better fade distance unlike an instant cut off) but has a lot better of a width area search effect. Each light has its own benefits and more details than what i said, choose your poison! also...the intro now has a special surprise (turn up volume ;) )
v12: New PB release compatible along with better Fearific and PB Tweak compatibility, implemented the flashlight so you don't need the UDV flashlight anymore if you used that (sometimes it messed with fog and PSX lighting), along with that it doesn't trigger enemies like UDV's light, sorry for any inconveniences and prolonged update time!

Weapon keys don't work somehow.
oh? like when you press 1 it wont pull up a weapon? have you checked the controls? also what other mods are you running with this and in what order? sometimes brightmap configs mess it up
Weapon keys are binded correctly. Here's the order from ZDL:

If you are using UDV then why do you need to Beam Flashlight? UDV comes with its own flashlight. just look in the controls section for all the UDV key bindings.
Has anybody else had the problem with weapon binds?
Yep, I had the same problem Holocauxt been having. I'm unable to swap weapons and Dual Wield.
this doesnt make sense and its actually quite dissapointing...ive tried everything from swapping the order, to adding in different code, it all still works for me, and i even use a large list of other addons, in which i didnt even impliment into PSX Doom so the code is all the same for all users! do you have any ideas of what the problem could be?
To anyone who knows more about code than me, can they help me solve this problem? i will give them full credit for their help! PM me any info please! this mod works for me and nobody else and i cant fix it!
For fix swap weapons, just delete in .pk3 file PLAYER.txt

Load the PK3 file after Project Brutality, but before any other mod you have, and thats all!

( I open the PB Through GzDoom.exe and the Game just starts, So I might be skipping a step or two)

Hey! I'm having an issue with the spectres. They don't have animations and don't show. They become invisible and can only be seen when not moving. Even some death animations don't play.
This is my load order:
PSXDOOM and anything related, Project Brutality, PSX DooM for PB, UDV A and then B, Droplets PB UDV.
It seems there's anther issue. On the 08th level, after killing the bruiser brothers, the level doesn't open up and we get stuck without advancing level.
you dont need the original PSX Doom files before PB :) that should fix everything and the nightmare spectres are supposed to be that invisible, you can only see their teal/black eyes

Hi again. Just to tell that the issue with the level not opening up on the 8th level still persists.
I had other mods, UDV and More Droplets and tested without them. I tested on the last stable version of GZDoom too, since I play normally on build.
which version? as in DEV builds or 1.8.2?
I play on dev build g2.1.pre-1307-g4e1723e and tested too on stable 2-0-05.
I've been trying to fix that issue. It probably has something to do with something in the Project Brutality that's making it not want to open. I'll make a temporary fix by adding a switch for it till I can get that glitch permanently fixed.
oh thanks man! tell me when that verson comes up! also do you think theres a patch so people can use alternative texture packs? because (im not saying this for my sake i LOVE the original textures!) some people ask me to have this capability but im not sure how to do that
The Textures has different names from the PC Version of Doom. You would have to rename Each File the same name as the PSX Testures

the original rifle is Project Brutalities, if you want it, you'll need to go inside Project Brutalities PK3 in SLADE and rip them out and make a texture replacement pack

You load it after PB
