This version of Knee-Deep in ZDOOM is designed to be used with gameplay modifications, new enemies and weapons have been eliminated, only the boss has been left alone, this version is to provide the maximum compatibility with most modifications .
Attention: This requires the IWAD Ultimate DOOM or its equivalent FreeDOOM Phase 1, otherwise the maps will have errors when changing levels.
How to use:
You just have to load it before the mod so that it works correctly, otherwise you will experience many problems.
For example:
- DOOM 4 for DOOM (D4D)
- Death Foretold (DOOM 4 Like Mod)
- Brutal DOOM v20b and v21
- Complex DOOM
- Project Brutality 2.03 and 3.0
- DOOM Delta
These are just the ones I've tried but it should work with any modification.
Note: I take some time checking each level for errors and they are already resolved especially the key doors.

Reasons why I made this version:
- Compatibility patches do not work correctly.
- The enemies are incompatible with a certain majority of mods.
- Gameplay mods conflict with certain actors.
- In Brutal DOOM and Project Brutality the rifle when firing or reloading takes off the game.

keycards dont work.
I do not understand if the cards work as they should, but I'll check anyway. It is normal that they do not appear in the hud but they work.
You don't have to run a check on keycards they should work even if they are in different colors it isn't a weapon so it shouldn't break anything

The reason why we do not have The Shores of ZDOOM and Zinferno:
Basically The Shores of ZDOOM has not come out yet because it seems that the project was abandoned and not to mention ZInferno, the fault lies with the KDiZD development team, comparing this with Extermination Day, KDiZD It had years of development and was developed by a team whereas Extermination Day took months and was developed by a user.
Yeah, I know. That's very sad.
I don't really believe that someone will be able revive the project anytime soon, if ever. Maybe some devs interested in modernising classic DooM campaign will start the work from scratch one day...
If I also believe it, but I use DOOM Tribute Project as an alternative to play all episodes of DOOM 1 and 2 enhanced with zdoom functions, since it is very similar to KDiZD, I have made a compatibility patch for that, but it requires my monster extension , you can find DOOM Tribute Project easily, and the monster extension can be found here.
Damn, i wish there was a simmilar lite version of Doom Tribute. Those maps are some of the best Doom maps i've seen, yet it's potential is grounded by glitching together with Brutal Doom and other mods.
I'm loving this modified version of KDIZD so far, but I found a bug with the keycards. When getting any keycard, it will give me all of the keycards, rather than just the one I picked up.
The bug seems to only affect Project Brutality, I have no problems when playing D4T. I will try to test it with Brutal Doom to see if it has problems.

That's not a skin, it's a modification based on DOOM 4/2016, which by certain is called Death Foretold and can be found in Moddb.
Another issue I found. It crashes in GZDoom 1.8.10 and Zandronum when playing it with Brutal Doom. Works on later GZDoom builds with Brutal Doom. No crashes with D4T.
This is weird because it works normal with zandronum, I've already tested it with Brutal DOOM and nothing happens, you tried the v21 test apr 25 version, I've also tested with ZDOOM LE 2.8.1b and it works correctly.
You already tried to load this before everything else, could be the reason for all that.
Okay it works now, I just have to load KDIZD Lite before BD

What exactly is different with the original uploaded version and the fixed version? In the fixed version I only have KDiZD_Disable_Glows.pk3 were in the original I had both KDiZD_Lite.pk3 and KDiZD_Disable_Glows.pk3.
Watch the fixed version fixes several errors that are overlooked, the file KDiZD_Disable_Glows.pk3, deactivates the extra lighting, this is a complement to load next to Brutal DOOM or another mod that alters the decorative effects, otherwise when you break a lamp this will continue to light up.
Well, in the currently downloadable zip file I can only find the Disable_Glow.pk3, not the (fixed) KDiZD_Lite.pk3. Is this a bug on my end or is it missing?
Use the one called KDiZD-Lite_Fixed.pk3, this is the fixed version.

sorry for ask this, but cant find the exit from mission 7, run all map, get all keys, kill all monters i see, but exit door not work, or is posible not find the exit button for open door.... i dont think this was bugged, make the mission 3 times and cant finish.....

And if use IDCLEV change brutal doom normal map, not maps from this mod
Look at these problems are solved by loading this bass before brutal doom, do not use the restart command does not work, if you are going to restart the map do it this way.
Example:
If you are on map 1, use the "map z1m1" command.
The IDCLEV trick does not work because the maps are named like this "z1m1 to z1m10".

Well yes was a bug, in final door, when kill the first knight the second not respawn, in 2 time when start again game and go to final door the second knight appear and can finish level
None of they keycards work in Z1M9, and upon completion, it accidentally warps you to the IWAD's E1M1 instead of Z1M4.
You must load this before everything so that it works well.
The wad was already at the top of the list in the ZDL launcher...
Then it must be that you are using the DOOM 2 IWAD instead of the Ultimate DOOM IWAD.

I'm sorry but I do not understand what this MOD is? Can someone summarize what it adds/changes?
This is basically a highly altered version KDiZD, eliminating all enemies and new weapons leaving only the final boss, to obtain a high compatibility with the mods, such as Brutal DOOM, Complex DOOM, DOOM 4 Death Foretold, etc.

No, this is just an adaptation of KDiZD to be used with mods. I'm too bad at mapping, I'm just intermediate in mapping. On the other hand TSoZD the continuation of KDiZD has not left and according to the developers the project had been abandoned, I would use DOOM Tribute Project instead.
When I try to start a game it says "Cannot Malloc 768 byes".
Fixed my problem, I was loading it after Brutal Doom.
However, once none of the colored doors really worked. It just let me open all of them once I had a single key.
Also the final boss did not appear.
The problem in Z1M9 is still the same (Keys not working), and also Z1M6 has this problem with the room where you need to activate three switches with the Red, Blue, and Yellow Card (In that same order), even if you have all of these cards, the switches aren't working. They keep saying "This doesn't seem to work"
With BDV21 i cant pick up the shotgun in the first level. When I push the button the platform goes down but for some reason the shoty (the sprite) gets stucks in the air. I tryed old BD builds, i disable BD level options, tryed other mods like Guncaster, PB,etc, and in those, the sprite works well and goes down, but in BD21 it doesnt. Any Help?

I beat the 1st map then it just went to E1M1 of Ultimate Doom, I know this a dumb question but how do you proceed to next level? Btw, I'm playing with PB Test Build and UDV 2.12. Its just kinda weird how it didn't go to next level of KDiZD.

I've had an issue regarding changing weapons while playing Project Brutality - simply impossible. So, I basically got stuck with one or two weapons, not being able to chage to those I've just gained.
Does anybody know how to solve it?
