Following the GZDoom port of Doom 64, BD-64 revitalizes the old Doom 64 with new special effects, particles, lightning, gore, new sounds, more weapon animations (shotgun reloads, smoother minigun barrels, etc.) and monsters and stuff cut from the original Nintendo 64 version. Works on GZDoom and Zandronum in OpenGL mode. (Zdoom and Zandronum Software mode are not supported.) No downloads available yet. Mod still is very early WIP.

Version 2.0 of Brutal Doom 64 has been released. This version includes a new weapon, the ability to perform kick attacks, allows you to choose the "Tactical Class" (weapons have to reload, added recoil, you have limited sprinting), adds deathmatch maps that can be played with bots, improves Revenant's sprites, and more.


Just download version 2.0 at the download section, and remove any previous installations you had.

Your save games from version 1 will no longer work, so to resume your game, you will need to use the IDCLEV cheat.

Really fond of the assault rifle and the probability that zombies will be chaingun zombies. Adds some randomness to it which is really cool.

Just one thing I noticed, all the zombies can be killed too fast like they don't even retaliate anymore. Maybe raise their health a bit and make them stunned when getting hit or bring in the DUKE3D mechanic where they fall to the ground bleeding. Like through probability they have a 50% chance to go into bleed/suffer mode instead of dying.

Gotta play this game in MP some day :D

Just fired it up and wanted to know,
what are those exclamation mark diamonds?
Also, is there anyway to make the headbob less on tactical?

out of curiosity, how were the demon artifacts changed? I know they were originally used to seal the doors on level 28 and upgrade the unmaker. is that still the case or is there something else now?

Also, I can not get access to the features menu anymore. kind of a bummer.
