Want to know what playing the mod will be like? Watch Chadman's recording of the beta testing event which took place last weekend. Many thanks to the Union Army (from North and South - our sister mod) for hosting and running it, it was a lot of fun; soon all of the bugs will be fixed and the mod is expected to be released later this week.
For future events, we know that rounds will probably be quick due to the improved rate of fire and accuracy, which only means less waiting around and more rounds per hour! I'll be releasing some basic event guidelines for people to use if they wish, so event admins don't end up using NW rules and wondering why everyone is complaining.
Featured addition: servers will now display a message when a player joins and leaves a server, the server will display a different message for admins.
Just to let you know, during the War of German Unification, and most likely earlier periods, most charges didn't turn into what we'd call "a melee", most likely one side would fall back before the charge could be turned into hand to hand/bayonet to bayonet combat. Or the charges would actually be really close volleys fired back and forth.
