Attempting to bring back the goodness of the overlooked Blood 2, this mod will contain a texture pack with sharpened map textures, menu graphics, and skins for all models. This mod will also include script features using Tren's FX Enhancer mod as a base. Expect Caleb to be stronger then ever.

Everything is 100% polished now. Extra enemies are spawned as they should be and everything about the feature is good to go. No broken issues when saving and loading games. Civilians are intact and working perfectly now. No more broken skin issues. 6.1 is the final conclusion to this long-winded mod and frankly I'm relieved. So, get in there and have some fun with B2EC.

Hey, This comment might be late, but do you know how the assault rifle grenades work? Is there a keybind I'm missing for it?

For some reason, when using this mod, some of the npc dialogues wont play, mostly notable the dialogues after the train crash from the first level.

What an absolute disaster this game is. B2 has to be the most broken and unstable game in history. Thanks, GTI.

Hi!
Can I only use the gameplay changes of the mod? Without including visual changes: new models, textures, etc.
As I understand it, you can use B2_EC_V6.1.REZ.
EC_PACK1_V6.1.REZ and EC_PACK2_V6.1.REZ contains texture, model and sound files.

Does this also affect Bloodbath Deathmatch (we only play the DM mode for Blood 2)?

Hey Guys, bringing back memories with a twist. I just like to ask, has anyone had the problem with the movement back key? I use down arrow for backwards movement. I try to select it but it drops down to the next one, really weird. The config file dont help much but if anyone knows, please help.

cool you're adding crap, but please fix the horrible a.i? it seems you're focused more on adding enemy variants, rather than making it fun.. make the a.i and physics not suck

I thought I should post my own installation guide for getting this to work on Windows 10 (64 bit in my case), since there's a bug I've run into on two separate Windows 10 machines that took a bit of screwing around to figure out. This guide will only be for the GOG version, since I've never used any other version of Blood 2.

1. Install Blood 2 using the old fashioned individual GOG game installer, DON’T install through GOG Galaxy.

2. Go to your control panel and go to Programs, then Programs and Features. Uninstall the entry with the name "GOG.com Blood 2." This is a compatibility mode GOG forces that screws up the game and prevents it from launching, so just get rid of it.

3. Download the "Blood II - high resolution fix" from the PCGamingWiki website Blood 2 page. Extract the Client.exe from the archive and replace the Client.exe in your Blood 2 installation folder with it.

4. Download dgvoodoo2 (I tested with the latest version as of this post, which is v 2.78, and it seems to work fine). Extract the files, and move the "dgVoodooCpl.exe" file and "dgVoodoo.conf" file to your Blood 2 installation folder. Go back to the extracted dgvoodoo2 archive. Open the "MS" folder, and then the "x86" folder. Move the files "D3DImm.dll" and "ddraw.dll" from that "x86" folder into your Blood 2 installation folder.

5. Run the "dgVoodooCpl.exe" file in your Blood 2 installation folder, and under the DirectX tab, set whatever you want. You probably want to uncheck “dgVooDoo Watermark” and “Disable Alt-Enter.” You can set your desired resolution and anti-aliasing under the DirectX tab. I prefer to only use 4:3 resolutions and avoid all the widescreen fix stuff as it only seems to create more trouble. DO NOT BOTHER with the resolution setting in the Blood 2 launcher, ignore it completely and only set the resolution through dgVoodoo2.

6. Run Blood 2. Choose Caleb. At some point in the first level, CREATE A SAVE (I’ll explain later why this is important). Close Blood 2.

7. Download the Blood 2 Extra Crispy 6.1 mod. Follow the installation instructions.

8. Run Blood 2 with Extra Crispy 6.1. Make sure you NEVER load the save you created in unmodded Blood 2 while running Extra Crispy. You should now be good to go.

Without step 6, and instead going straight to step 7, Blood 2 would crash every single time I attempted to save the game, on two different machines. Only after I went through the whole installation process with step 6 added did it work.

UPDATE: Since I wrote this I've gotten a new computer, which also has Windows 10 on it. I can only assume it's due to Windows updates or something similar, but Blood 2 definitely seems more unstable now than before. Frequently there's a Client MFC stopped working error when I close the game. It also seems that with Extra Crispy installed, and even with the high resolution fix exe and dgVoodoo, the game will crash on launch every time if a resolution with a height of 1000 or greater is chosen (so basically don't set a higher res than 1280x960 in dgVoodoo). It also seems that the game crashes sometimes on launch for no clear reason, because it'll then run fine if I try to launch it right after without attempting to do anything different. A good approach to minimize crashing is to make sure you set everything exactly as you want it with Blood 2, in dgVoodoo and so on, before you save the game even once, rather than making changes with the setup after having saved. The game is working with Extra Crispy 6.1, the only problems as yet being the Client MFC error that pops up most times when I shut the game down and sometimes when I launch it. This seems like a minor annoyance so far though. I just hope the game is stable otherwise but without playing completely through it I can't say.

Just discovered that the cause of all my weird instability problems was using a monitor refresh rate above 60Hz. It seems this screws with all old lithtech games.

You know, I'm surprised that no one has made a comment yet that would say something like this: "Wow. This game is so ****** that you can't even install it without problems".

A very late edit: I'm not saying that Blood 2 is bad, I actually like it. I'm just saying that someone might think even worse of it (if they already thought bad of it) if they have had problems with installing the game.

It's pretty common for old PC games to need some tinkering to get working. Blood 2 is especially bad in this respect, but it can be made to work.
