Called the Katyusha, this crude but effective barrage rocket artillery piece consisted of 16 rails mounted on the rear of a ZIS truck or American Studebaker. The vehicle was terrifying to come under attack by as the rockets made unearthly howls as they flew. The Katyusha trucks were, however, unarmored, fairly slow, and very visible when launching an attack.
